RARE UNDATED ED DONOHUE “AMERICAN BEAUTY” GRATEFUL DEAD TIE DYE T-SHIRT. Original shirt made by the AMAZING Ed Donohue. He was one of the very first people to hand print and tie dye his own shirts. He made his own ink and silk-screened his name and date on the shirt for authenticity. I have been told that this was one of Eds first shirts that he put his artwork on. All indications are that this shirt is an early to mid 70s edition. Some have said that this was his representation of American Beauty, an album that the Grateful Dead released in November of 1970. I have been unable to verify that these statements are true. Hanes tag is an original tag from the 70’s. Please note that these shirts are the original thin t-shirts by Hanes from the 70s and are sized more around a medium shirt of todays standard. Not heavyweights for sure. This shirt is in excellent shape in new or near new condition. Colors are fresh and crisp. This shirt came from a head shop in Denver that closed in the 90’s.
