Piece of ” Garcia & Grisman ” History… At the Warfield!! & Garcia & Grisman! Tie-Dye Shirt from the ” Garcia & Grisman ” 5-night concert run at the Warfield Theater in San Francisco, CA on May 3rd through May 11th, 1992. This was the very last run of shows that Jerry Garcia & David Grisman would ever play together. This magical musical reunion between David & Jerry only lasted for a few years – in the studio & live, from 1990 to 1995 before Garcia’s untimely passing in 1995. However, the’ Live’ performances only happened for a brief period between 1991 & 1992 – all in San Francisco at the Warfield Theater. In a lot of ways, this was one of the most important ” Live Reunions ” ever in the world of string-music… Or as David would like to add ” Dawg Music ” – or as Jerry would like to add ” Dead Music “. There is nowhere like the Warfield, and it is almost too much to think about just how much love, love of music & joy came out of these short-but-so-sweet studio session recordings & few live performances. As I always like to say, if you were ever fortunate enough to see Garcia at the Warfield – then you were one of the lucky ones. If you got to see Garcia & Grisman grace this fine musical-space?
