A recent estate find from an old deadhead. I found it in a little shed that had been modified into a teenager’s room / party pad circa 1972. There was all sorts of paraphernalia of the 1960’s and 70’s counterculture.. Underground comix, trip toys, records and a hi-fi. There was a poster on the wall from the Dead’s first ever Family dog show.. Unfortunately most of the albums were very “partied upon”. They say it is better to burn out than fade away but most of the stuff was both burnt out and faded away. But with the shirts i found that just seems to give them more character. I’m putting them up here for those who appreciate holes as “negative space” and stains as patina. They are the real deal. This particular listing is for this vintage 1976 or’77 GRATEFUL DEAD concert T-Shirt. This is the famous ” SKULL and ROSES” motif. The shirt is a size M. The measurements are in the photos. This is a true vintage shirt. Offering it in ” as found” condition. It has been worn many times. There are holes and stains. It has mucho character. If this shirt could talk.. This is a true vintage Grateful Dead t-shirt from the 1970s or 80s! Features a graphic of Bertha from the album on the back and a small skull & crossbones with heart & roses on the front upper left placement. Mostly black tshirt with a white V-neckline and striped ringer sleeves. Super soft, probably unworn/unwashed but cannot verify that. Made in the USA from a 50/50 cotton/poly blend. Adult size Medium, but keep in mind that shirts were often a slimmer fit 40-50 yrs ago. Also, the stripes around the arms do not stretch very much, which is why I added that measurement to the photos. This is a rare and hard-to-find shirt! Perfect for collectors of Grateful Dead and/or vintage grunge rock clothing! Please look closely at each photo as they are considered part of the description. I take great care in packaging so that my items make it safely to their new homes! I also use recycled &/or biodegradable materials whenever possible to reduce my carbon footprint.
