Without any doubt one of the coolest-ever ” Venue Specific ” G. Shirts ever manufactured by Grateful Dead Merchandise! Grateful Dead Shirt : Vintage Original (Genuine / Authentic) : 1984 :’ Steal Your Face! Grateful Dead Productions, Inc. Grateful Dead’84 Vintage Shirt! Logo – with a Bright-Red Shoulder Panel!! — An Early / Mid’80’s G. & Rock’n Roll!! Should I just let the photos do the talking on this one, or should I speak on its behalf? Hough, I do openly admit obviously… That it is tough to out-do the photos of this G. Well, beauty is always in the eye of the beholder – indeed… But, at least to my eye? & for what that’s worth… This here 1984 G. Shirt is simply a Grateful Dead Treasure to behold! Quite frankly, I believe this here T-Shirt to be one of the Hottest!!! Tee’s of all-time. Holy Red & White – Blue Suede Shoes! ? ! Well, it’s safe to say that they Just Don’t Quite Make’em Like’ This! – or, to these’ Quality’ standards either! This thing is just Built To Last! ? ! But wait just a minute… As that Album was like 5-Years away when this Amazing! Tee 1st hit the scene. And, to think that this one was just a little-baby! During that Red-Hot MCVA run that kicked-off the’84 Spring Tour!! I mean all I can really think here is that this just Has! To be one of the finest Grateful Dead Shirts of all-time – issued by GDP! And, to put it so bluntly… It’s one of the Hottest!!!!! Let me put it this way – whomever is the way-lucky one that will be wearing this one to a Show if you even dare, that is… Well, you had just better just be ready – because Fans are going to want their Photos! And that’s no joke! Plus, this shirt even has a little extra G. Luck attached to it. I wore it once! To a Show over another Shirt! And ran right into Mountain Girl! Well, as for the details on this one – please do let the photos do the talking, as I’ve provided as many as possible… And, I think it’s also important to take a close look at the close-ups – to really see the Quality! Of which this one is manufactured. Nice & thick Cotton/Poly Blend (50/50) – the stitching on the shoulder & sleeve areas are done with some serious attention to detail, and care, etc.. take an especially close look at the Stripes! And, by looking close – you can also see any issues that this shirt has, and… There aren’t too many – Real Nice Shape! The main issue I suppose? – is that the shirt is affected by some light spray-paint haze… Some on the design image (see the speckling), the shoulders, sleeves & body. And, other than that? There is some’ pilling’ of the fabric, common in this type of shirt-fabric the heavier-kind! , and there are a few assorted stains here & there. And, in my opinion – basically Nothing! That takes away from snapping this one in a Frame! Or, you could also just snap-it on You! I like it, I like it… The true fact of the matter is that this one really should be sitting in a Museum! The Rock’n Roll Hall of Fame!! Because at least to this guy, that’s what’84 Grateful Dead does to my ears… With some Tone-Heavy Boss-Distortion – courtesy of The Boss Himself!!! Oakland Auditorium – Oakland, California (CA) : December 26,27,28,30,31, 1982 : Vintage-Original Fan Made Lot Tee! 1982 Grateful Dead Happy New Year! Tie-Dye Shirt made for the 1982 – 83 New Years Eve run of Shows! At the Oakland Auditorium!! Offered here is an Ultra-Rare!!! 1982 Grateful Dead Tie-Dye Shirt made for the New Years Eve run of Shows at the beloved Oakland Auditorium Arena in Oakland, California!!! This Rare and Awesomely-designed Shirt likely falls into the almost’ Beyond-Rare’ Collector’s top echelon of Only One In Existence! Who’s to say, I suppose – but this one is not only a beauty in design-itself including the’ old-style’ Tie-Dye! , but in age as it is close to 45-Years old! Personally, I love this Shirt and really think that it encapsulates the true real! Vintage Early-Days of the parking-lot-scene Shirt creativity. I mean check-out the old-school Tie-Dye! You’ve got Mr. Skeleton dancing away – in true New Year’s Eve style… Just like on that floor, or in the breezeways at the Good Ol’ Oakland Auditorium! Later known as the Henry J. And at this point here… These were truly the’ later’ days of the Grateful Dead being able to play the Oakland Auditorium, with the last Show ever there – happening on the West Coast Spring leg, of the 1989 Tour! But luckily, the Jerry Garcia Band continued to grace the Kaiser – all the way through 1994! Just like the Skeleton couple here… As it doesn’t really ever get any better than a New Years Eve occasion! During the Uncle Bobo days… Just check out the Skeletons too, as Mr. Dancing Skeleton has his Top-Hat in toe! It’s all a Bundle of Red Roses!!! – with the Petals All A Fallin’!!! Right on the front-side… 82 Oakland Auditorium’83 printed nicely, with all of the Show Dates included below!!!!! December 26, 27, 28, 30 & 31, 1982… And soon to be’83! As the sands in that Good Ol’ Hour-Glass pass. Hey, if the have to pass – like they do anyways… Why not do it in California, with the Grateful Dead! And last but not least most-certainly not least! What a Tie-Dye Job!!! I mean this one looks like the’ Rit-Dye’ was bought right at the Safeway on College Avenue in Oakland or some other heavenly near-G. Place like that way back in’82, and the rubber-bands were strapped on in the parking-lot – naturally… And it was hand-dyed right in the back of a Late-60’s VW Micro-Bus! It’s the Good Ol’ fashioned & and the Original! ” Circular “-Pattern Style Tie-Dye Design! Gotta love this one… As it just Glows! In the true essence of G. Vintage, and even better yet… In New Years Eve Fashion!!! This one is indeed for you, Serious-Collector’s of Ultra-Rare!!! Grateful Dead Vintage items. This one is so sweet… That it needs to be Rocked! With a Shirt This-Cool – maybe even’ framed! -’82-’83 G. On New Years Eve!!! But, as far as Fall Tour’89 goes – this Rock & Roll Black! Tee was indeed the color. I believe these were the only two shirts ever-made of this exact style? Featuring the wonderful Tim Harris designed artwork, in all of its magical glory. Quite similar to the Tour Laminates of both of these’89 Tours. Treasure here, and arguably too… One of the Coolest! Made originally for the Europe’90 Tour! – then for the Grateful Dead in the U. To promote’ Without A Net’!!! I mean it just doesn’t get any better than Griff, does it? Well, I don’t think so. This is just a Classic… & now Quintessential Beauty! Shirt from over 35-Years Ago! Rick Griffin Art, truly at his Finest! And also, arguably one of his last – or quite close to last final Legendary!! Works — and so very fittingly, this one’s for The Grateful Dead!!! In November of 1990… But also, the Monumental’ Live’ release… Known as ” Without A Net “!!! Much better known as Brent Mydland!!! I believe that I 1st saw this Shirt at the Spring Tour’91 Cap Centre Shows! 4-run of Show by the Band, so… Just thinking back, as this was pretty much’ The! Shirt to have at the time, as it was really some seriously different Rick Griffin Art that was featured on a Shirt! There had been a little gap for a while, with the Griffin Art on new Dead Tees, and when this Beauty! Hit the scene, it was like… Right-On & Welcome Home!!! This was such a transitional time, with Brent’s passing – so… Almost everything seemed just a little bittersweet. And, not to paint a dreary picture, but – it actually kinda got worse… Fast, with both Rick Griffin & Bill Graham passing shortly thereafter. So, at least to me… This is the period of time that this represents – and represents Vividly!!! This is a popular one, which has been no doubt – reprinted over the years, but… Here with this one – just check out that vintage old school’ Cronies’ tag! The real deal indeed… This is one that no Dead Fan should live without, as this Griffin G. Design Image has indeed! Stood the test of time, and is just as cool as it was back in 1990-91! Plus, when you think about it -‘ Without A Net’ itself was all 1989 & 1990 Grateful Dead Live! And that was the Hot-Stuff!!! The’89 Summer Tour, Spring’90… Good Ol’ Grateful Dead in the’ newest’ of forms – during the Stout! Built To Last’ Era!!! This one is a G.
