In making a Grateful Dead Tour Shirt – just like we like’em! In the fashionable look. I mean here we have… A Dead Fan Skeleton playing the Bongos! But, one quick look at the photos, and you will see that this-one is way more than that! As this is a Spiral-Eyed! & Cigarette Smoking Skeleton with even a Fancy Cigarette Holder! – wearing a Top Hat with a Rose!! There weren’t too many Dead Shirts featuring’ Smoking’? ! ? The’89 Summer Tour ” Smoking Keyboard Skeleton ” Tee is the only one that I can even think of? You know, right off the top of my Dead Head!! And, just-like in the Good Ol’ Daze of the Grateful Dead Parking Lot! — this Rhythm Devil of a Skeleton has gathered some Fans fast! – a Spiral-Eyed Lizard & a Skull! – and even a Crescent Moon too! The scene here on this Dead Tour Tee! Oh & yeah too – as how could I almost forget… This is a Grateful Dead Steal Your Face! Brand pair of Bongos – with a Steal Your Face! In Red, White & Blue right on the front! Check-out the colorful & exquisite detail! All over the design on this Dan Morris Masterpiece… And some serious! Detail on the’ framed’ border. It’s almost Native American and/or Southwestern in the printed design… But, when you look inside – there are Skulls, Eyes, Peace Signs… And even Dancin’ Bears! In this brilliant pattern. And, look at the ” Grateful Dead ” font on the back! So different, unique & cool… Unlike any other, really. One of the most Unique & Coolest! With this one for Spring’95! Offered here is the clearly Awesome! & Very Rare ” Dead Sync 2 ” Uncle Sam Shirt!!! And yes, the photos indeed do justice for this amazing-image… Just take a look as Uncle Sam Gutierez design! Well, the original ” Dead Sync ” Shirt was a stage-worn one by Jerry Garcia — HA! As you know, I’m totally! No, but you probably can assume who did weir – I mean’ wear’ it, and it wasn’t Phil, Billy, Mickey, or Brent — you guessed it Bobby Weir!!! Ooops, as I guess I spoiled it… That was the ” Dead Sync 1 ” that I believe also read Touch of Grey (the video) on it in fine print? I could be wrong, but I believe the significance of that one was the ” Touch of Grey ” video, a classic & basically legendary one with Puppet-strings & late-night (after show) Laguna Seca filming with a dog running away with Mickey’s leg bone! Well, at least that pooch didn’t steal his Celtics Jacket!! So, if I’m correct in this – there was definitely a need for a ” Dead Sync 2 ” Shirt obviously… , and what better of a timing than with the release of the amazingly remastered G. This Shirt was released in 2004, as was the G. ” Special Edition ” two (2) DVD set, and I think that is the connection here — but regardless, there had to be a ” Dead Sync 2 “, because barely hardly! Well, they could have been and maybe I just missed it… As believe me, it happens – you know? ! ? Check out the photos on this one… As it’s a totally-cool & rare! Classic — and hey, can you even believe that 2004 is now 20-Years-Ago? ! ?? Oh boy, does time fly-by…. Here for you folks!! Hopefully Weir still has his – and Rocks! It every now & then! ” Comeonnn Bobbby ” in Phil’s voice — remember that Show! ? ! You might just wear this shirt out? ! As it is definitely one of those’ Top-Drawer’ G. And, for that matter – all Fans of the Delightful Rock Art Masterpieces of Philip Garris too! And, of course – All! Lovers of the Electric Guitar!! The year was 1994, the 2nd to last ever Touring-Year of the Grateful Dead – and the Rock Art & G. Philip Garris delivered this!! ? ! Without any question at all – one of the Finest! Rock Artifacts & T-Shirt! Rock Artifacts from the 1990’s Grateful Dead Era! This one truly stands the test of time any! I mean I’m not sure it’s even possible to make a T-Shirt any cooler than this… Paying respect to the U. Uncle Sam Skeleton in his Top Hat – Red Roses all around… With this Uncle Sam Skeleton’s ” Axe ” of choice being a Red! Doug Irwin body style & head stock Electric Guitar!!! One of the best-ever, at least in my opinion – though I don’t think that I’m alone… I assume you are Well! Familiar with the 1974 Philip Garris G. Rock art Masterpiece ” The Fiddler ” – as it was selected for the Cover Art of the 1975 Grateful Dead ” Come-Back / Return ” Album release… Garris created ” The Fiddler” design in 1974, and it was used immediately by the Grateful Dead in 1975 – and, not just on the Album… As it was used on T-Shirts! And all kinds of other assorted G. Turn the clock forward 20-Years… And Garris delivers This-One!!! In the Grateful Dead Touring-Year of 1994! So, my assumption is that this was an Art movement to commemorate the Legendary! 75 Fiddler design – as in this period, Garris actually delivered three (3) designs… A re-issue of the 1974/75 ” The Fiddler “, another new design ” Bertha & The Golden Bear ” (1995)… Of a design (1994)… A USA Top Hat Uncle Sam Skeleton & Roses – Playing a Doug Irwin style Electric Guitar!!! So yes, 20-Years later – and Philip Garris is still! Delivering Rock Art of Legendary! For the Good Ol’ Grateful Dead!!! I mean hey, at the end of 1994 & 1995 for the Grateful Dead – times became a little bit difficult… But, as I’ll distinctly never-ever forget at the time – there were’ fresh’ Art designs coming out at this magnitude & importance for the Grateful Dead. And, I just knew! That these were still indeed very-special times… For the Band, for the Artists, and for the loyal Dead Fans! And, here we are now 30-Years! After the fact, and… My goodness – I was right. In my personal opinion, this’94 Garris design here – stands right up there at the Top! I believe this’94 Shirt was only issued on a Black Shirt, and on this way-cool Dead Red! Providing, as the photos very-well show – a nothing short of Stellar! Background & contrast for this Amazing! One of the Rarest! And, without question – One of the Best!!! Tag Size / Brand : Extra Large (X-Large / XL) / Cronies (100% Cotton / Made In USA) Pit-to-Pit = 25″ Length = 28″ As this is a vintage collectible shirt – here are the issues that stand out to my eye upon very close inspection. A Dead Man obsessed! Obviously by the Good Ol’ Pigpen-Era! Fashionable Sporting — Biker Boots! – a Leather Jacket! – Smoke in the Teeth! Just for the’Right’ Grateful Dead Fan!!!! So here’s one just a little bit on the Different, Rare! No Rick Griffin ” Crossbones ” here, or anything like this – but this one here looks like one Pigpen himself might choose to wear, if he was around to here in this new millennium! Just check out the no-messin’-around image on this one… And here you thought you didn’t think that you ever wanted to wear a Dead Shirt! ? ! Smokin’ Skeleton holding a Switchblade-like Knife, with a possessed-look – picking away at something? — and naturally, wearing a Leather Motorcycle Jacket, with a serious pair of Biker-type boots!! When I first saw this here black & white Classic! I couldn’t quite tell if it was Biker, Punk Rock, or even The Mods? But, I’m going with Biker – I think? Hey, you tell me. I just think that slick looking Motorcycle Jacket is a give-away, and if that isn’t how about those Boots!! I don’t know about the Knife & the Smoke, as I won’t go there. Almost looks like a Toni Iommi image from the Nassau Coliseum in’80 on the ” Heaven & Hell ” Tour! But wait, we’re talkin’ Grateful Dead. Just check out that ” Grateful Dead ” logo design!! ? !! That image looks totally killer too! I’m thinking that this one should probably be ridden & shown-off on the ” Right ” Harley – as when you think about it, how many just black & white Only! Grateful Dead tee’s do you ever really see! I guess in other words… I suppose this is the ” Tie-Dye ” Antidote! For the fan that still just loves their Grateful Dead!! – it’s in really nice-shape – so whether or not you want to cut the sleeves-off & go sleeveless, is entirely up to you. Careful though, as to never quite-know what a vintage-tee like This! Might be worth in the Future when it is an old & grey Good Ol’ Friend!! This is a Lightly Barely!
