The Second Decadenal Field Trip!!! Who know a’ Real-Deal’ Dead Shirt when you see-one – from close 45-Years Ago!!! & Rock & Roll History!! Probably best-described in’ short’ & in modern Dead Fan language as… ” Sunshine Daydream – Part II “!! And, as far as long-described goes? Well, trust me as I could go on All-Day! This was the long-waited ” Return ” of The Grateful Dead! To Veneta from the Legendary! 8/27/72 Veneta, Oregon Show… Some do feel that 8/27/72 was one-of, if not simply ” The ” most-important Dead Shows in the Band’s entire History! And, I sure do agree – that it is up there. But, being that this still is America & all – a land where everyone is entitled to their own opinion – even if it is in the great ” minority “… And so, here – with no Furthur adieu – here’s mine… On 8/28/82 (nearly 10-years to the date, of the 8/27/82 Show)… And yes, by Hotter!! I mean – let’s put it this way… In’72 the Strat! Got a little bit of mercy (here & there) – but, in’82… And, quite frankly – I’ve ” outgrabbed ” my 8/28/82 Tapes a near 2-to-1 in ratio since having them both in my possession from way-back in the Late’80’s As from the late Set I China > Rider! This-Show is just flat-out Magical!! For that Other One!!! I’d even go as far as calling this Show a ” Top 5 ” of All! It’s just So-Nasty! – and the Boys are simply unwilling to not make this one count — Big-Time!!! The Grateful Dead’s Second Decadenal!! To the Magnificent & Glorious! Oregon Country Fairgrounds on 8/28/82!!! So, in other words – go grab Your! And load-up this Intense & Magical! & You tell Me!! If you know the Magical ” Oregon Country Fair ” Fairgrounds! Know where I’m coming from on the sheer Magic! Of this Dead Show! As you bet that this-one has roamed through those Magical Woods! – at least on this Planet!!! And, as it totally goes without saying – but, which should still be clearly stated… This David Lundquist ” Eagle Eye Studios ” Art Design! Was, is & will always be… One of his Very-Best! If really, not just his Best! As Lundquist did indeed do some Grate! Ones for the Dead in the Early-’80’s Era – but, for years & years… This-one has always been my own personal favorite. For those of you out there who saw the Band at both 8/27/82 And! I personally consider you to be some of the Luckiest Folks! In this whole-wide World!! This unusual piece of original Deadhead ephemera advertises a limited-edition “Meadowlands Dead – September 2, 1978″ T-shirt featuring the classic Grateful Dead skull/lightning-bolt motif incorporated into a Meadowlands-themed design. The September 2, 1978 date corresponds to the Grateful Dead’s concert at Giants Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, with Willie Nelson and New Riders of the Purple Sage also on the bill. An excellent piece of late-1970s Grateful Dead/Deadhead merchandising history. Order form remains unfilled. Please examine photos closely for exact condition. I mean don’t most all of us have that ” Help On the Way > Franklin’s Tower ” that we got somewhere along the line – somewhere down that road – a long, long time-ago… And, at least for me & the way my memory works – I can take myself right-back! To some of the great & Grate! Moments of Time & Space… And for me personally? There are a few that just stand-out & shine! For one reason, or another… As it seems like you can’t always control just exactly what & where you’ll remember something – but, the fact is… It’ was important enough to actually be a memory, that lasts for decade(s)! 6/14/91 RFK – 6/28/92 Deer Creek – 8/22/93 Autzen – 12/11/94 Oakland… And I can almost watch each! Of these live G. Gems, right in my mind – completely. I was lucky enough to be close enough at each of these Shows, to allow the mind to work thankfully… , and – come to think of it, the’91 Summer Tour RFK ” Help > Slip > Franklin’s ” can actually be easily! Re-lived by anyone who chooses & chooses wisely! To View From The Vault II!!! — 6/28/92 at the Creek actually’ opened’ one of the best ” First Sets ” that I ever saw in the 1990’s — the 8/22/93 Duck U. Version also opened the Show… Eugene on a Lighting-Hot Oregon Sunny Day!! So – I’m thankful I was real close, and I’m also thankful that it was in California & inside the Coliseum! So-many memories there, that All… Hey, I mean this Shirt pretty much says it all – and it’s said by Garcia & Hunter… ” Paradise Waits ” and ” Without Love In The Dream It Will Never Come True “!!! And you name it from there on! Just like no one can do it’ quite’ like the Grateful Dead! — well, no one can do it quite-like Garcia & Hunter either! Grateful Dead Shirt from the May 5 & 6, 1990 Los Angeles, CA Shows!
