And, you betcha – as we were All! Heck, as I even remember flying cross-county to see both of the Jones Beach Shows – when we caught word that the Boys were going to be playing both Acoustic & Electric Sets!!! And, how could any East Coast / Mid-Atlantic and/or Upstate run of Show be completed without… I mean hey, the Saratoga Performing Arts Center was long-forgotten by the Dead Fan Faithful, as the ” Last Chance ” to ever be invited there was in the Mid-’80’s… Hence, Bobby’s Legendary Don’t Hang Off The Balcony!!! ” on-stage comments to a Rabid & Over-Enthusiastic Dead Fan on the 1985 Summer Tour ” 20-Years So Far Grateful Dead run. But, here we were once again – and though there was nothing good about having Jerry gone, the one single thing that changed that was indeed a’ plus’ was that the Band could again play the smaller & much-much more intimate Venues, no longer being billed as ” The Grateful Dead “. And, for Die-Hard Dead Fans… A Trip back to SPAC!!! Was indeed a Huge-Bonus!! And, for the occasion of this June 20, 2003 SPAC Show by ” The Dead ” – Richard Biffle himself was involved in the creation of this ” SPAC ” Venue-Specific Tour Shirt… And here indeed it is! And though the photos of this G. Do indeed say-it-all, I still can’t help but chime in! I mean just’ Look’! – a ” Skeleton Jester-In-The-Box ” Smiling as he proudly pulls apart a ” Grateful Dead ” paper cut-out for display! Popping’ right out of the roof-top of the historic Madison Square Garden!!! The Empire State Building right in the background – standing tall on the N. With ” September 88 Fall Tour ” shining below & shadowing-out in an Amazingly-Artistic! So, yes – as I suppose that is the key-word here indeed my fellow G. And Rock & Roll Fans… Can a Dead Shirt get any-cooler than this one? !! And, isn’t it funny too – that usually and so often when this’ question’ happens to be posed… Art of Rick Griffin is so-often right in the mix. I mean if a design was ever-meant to be on a’ Black’ Shirt – then this-is-it. As this design just practically Explodes! Right off of this’ Black’ Rock & Roll Shirt… Which, it most definitely looks like You! Will soon be Rockin’ right on your body! I mean if you want to’ frame’ this one – sure, it’s way-worthy for sure… But my goodness is this a fine piece of G. Yesteryear vintage that needs to be Rocked!!! You know, to deliver some Smiles!!! To all those who are lucky enough to walk by you, when you’re sporting this one. The 9/24/1988 M. S. G. Show was even a ” Benefit ” Concert! – for the Rainforests!! – for Cultural Survival, Greenpeace & the Rainforest Action Network!!! Two of which, I’m personally proud to say that I was a member of in the’90’s – not too much longer after this Magical! Nine (9) Shows at the Madison Square Garden – from September 14, 1988 through September 24, 1988!!! The simple fact is, a Dead Shirt can really not get anymore Dead-Shirt! Than this one – Size XL, and just a piece of G. And Rock & Roll History!!! Tag Size / Brand : Extra Large (X-Large / XL) / Hanes (100% Pre-shrunk Cotton). Tie Dye Tour Shirt for the 1988 Fall Tour 9-Show run at MSG!!!! & Fans of Mikio Art!!! Offered here is a Very-Rare! This is one of the only (if not’ the’ only) ” Official ” designs Mikio created for New York City Grateful Dead performances! As seen in the photos, this is simply a magnificent shirt – and indeed is a True-piece of Concert Shirt Art! Now well over 30-Years Old!! On the Shirt front the Statue of Liberty! Arises like Venus above the New York Skyline! She is draped in a Starry Cloak, while holding her Flame high and standing on a Red, White and Blue Lightning Bolt Orb! Her Cloak unravels and forms Wings with some of the Stars falling out the the Cloak onto the Sky Blue Tie-Dye background.
