As here offered here is the Very-Rare! 2003 Issued version of the Grateful Dead 1988 Summer Tour GDM Classic! And, while the 1988 Grateful Dead Summer Tour Shirt was made only ” Venue-Specific ” for the July 29, 30 & 31, 1988 (7/29/88 – 7/30/88 – 7/31/88) run of G. Shows at the Laguna Seca Raceway in Monterey, CA — this very-rare’03 version was actually’ changed’ from the’88 original version… With the Tour Dates omitted! So, quite the opportunity for certain for any Dead Fans out there who just Loved! Movie / USA Uncle Sam Skeleton Shirt Design… But, that didn’t catch the Laguna Seca’88 Shows! Genuine / Authentic 2003 Issue by GDM, which really was a ” re-creation ” and alteration of the Laguna Seca’88 Original! I mean hey, let’s face it… Some Fans might love a Dead Shirt’ design’ – but, they don’t want to Rock a Shirt out in public promoting a Show that they didn’t actually go to see. You know – and, for a fine example : You! Are sitting at the bar, having a pint of beer… And a (very) pretty girl walks up to you like… A’ total’ California Girl through & through and she says… Hey Man, I went to that Dead Show at Laguna Seca… Were’ You’ there too? ! Your answer is ahhh… Something like ” the wrong ” answer of — Nope, but I’m just wearing the Shirt. A bummer so-easily avoided, right? My point being, this was such an Awesome! Dead Shirt design when it originally debuted in’88 – to the point that it Really! Should have been made also in a ” Non ” Venue-Specific version also. Maybe too just for the ” 1988 Summer Tour ” alone, or maybe too – just like this… ” Generic ” version – with All! Of the Killer designs in place, but just no Show Dates. And, I’m pretty much sure GDM was thinking just like me on this notion, because here in Finally! And, it only took 15-Years! To get it done… From 1988 to 2003! But, the important thing is that it did happen… Yes, time does fly… But, no need for you to worry anymore on getting this-one in your cherished Rock & Roll! As here it is… & here you go! Size ” Large ” is your size – which, we are both hoping so… Because this Shirt needs Rocked! Out in public, and at the next Show! That you go and see. You had better get ready for the Nice Shirt!!! Compliments, because believe me – they Will! Be coming in with this one. Shows run at the Henry J. In Oakland, California!!!! Offered here the Vintage Original (Genuine / Authentic) Grateful Dead 1985 Chinese New Year Year of the Ox! Shirt made for the February 18th through 20th run of shows at the Henry J. Kaiser in Oakland, California aka. Home’ of the Deadheads! , with the actual Chinese New Year G. Celebration itself falling on the Tuesday 2/19 show — and in the 2nd Set… Women Are Smarter with Gung Hay Fat Choy Iko Iko! And a ” Dragon Dance ” during Drums — with the Chinese Symphony Orchestra even opening before the Grateful Dead! This was actually the very-first run of Dead Shows at the Kaiser, where it was re-named the Henry J. Kaiser , as prior – as most all of you know, this was the Oakland Auditorium Arena… The place where Dead Fans called home in the Bay Area, before the consistent Oakland Coliseum & Shoreline Amphitheatre days. And as for this Classic of a Tee? Well, for starters – Bobby Weir used to stage-wear this shirt-design, I think I recall it was the ” grey ” Shirt version that he was Rockin’ — at the B. Point being, if one of the Boys in the Band are wearin’ it – then it has to be one of the Grate! Hey, if either Ace – B. Mick – Brent, or Phil are wearing a Dead Tee on Stage – Count Me In!! No offense to Garcia, but he’s a Black T-Shirt guy, right? But during this brief Era… It could also be’ Trouble Ahead! – Jerry’s in Red!! – who saw the bright multi-color pants Garcia worn in Vegas? ! ? 92 or’93 maybe? OK, sorry – got off track there – Ha! So in my personal opinion? This’85 ” Ox ” design is really one of the best ever in a lot of different ways design-wise, The Ox! Because it was the First!!! It was the’ predecessor’ to the ” Year of the Tiger (’86) ” Shirt, the ” Year of the Hare (’87) “, and also the ” Year of the Dragon (’88) “… In other words, it was the Very 1st! Pretty darn-cool piece of info there, right! But hey – above all else… There’s just nothing quite like a G. Chinese New Year Show – any Year! During those usually cold and/or rainy West Coast early-months of the year. I’m still riding high from the last ” Dragon Parade ” I ever saw… At the Year Of The Dog! ” And I’m not kidding at all – some say that was the ” Last Amazing! Run for the Grateful Dead… And though I’d hate to look at things that way – it’s hard to not concur if you caught that run, or heard the music – especially on the ” Chinese New Year ” night. So go ahead and check out all of the photos provided, as this one just shouts-out ” Awesome ” — the 1985 Year Of The Ox!!! Watch-out though, because you know what they say about the ” Bull & The Horns ” – probably applies here with this Ox, because the’85 Grateful Dead were Smokin’-Hot!!! Berkeley Greek Theatre Shows!!! The Good Ol’ Early-’80’s! Peakin’ at The Greek!!!!! And, maybe too California-Deadheads!!! As here is the really-really Awesome! ” Hot Pink ” Dead Shirt issued by Grateful Dead Productions / Aeropostale in 2012 – to Commemorate! May 1982 3-Night Stand! By the Good Ol’ 1980’s! Grateful Dead – at the one & only… What a run it was, and what a Venue! Arguably, and at least in my own mind… ” The Greek ” is the Absolute-Best! Outdoor Amphitheatre Venue in the U. To see real Rock & Roll!!! And, while I myself have not even seen a Concert at the Greek – since…- I have indeed listened to these’82 G. Shows probably close to 60 + times… Well, hey though – take it easy… As I’ve had them since the Late’80’s!! In fact, these 3-Shows were only actually the 6th, 7th & 8th Shows that the Dead played at the Greek Theatre, with a Fall Tour 1967 Show being the very-first. The Band was actually only ” allowed ” to play at the Greek until the 1989 Summer Tour, as by then – things just got too-big for the Boys. So, this’82 run was actually the 2nd ” multi-night ” run of Shows – with only 1981 being the 1st, and the Greek Theatre delivered more Magic! For the Grateful Dead, than one could shake a stick at – or, you know… I actually went to school at Cal for a while in the Early-’90’s, and let’s just put it this way… Way-before that, I was listening to quite a bit of the Motorcycle Space! From the 5/23/82 Sunday Night Show!!! Garcia at the Warfield – and the Dead at Shoreline, Expo & the Coliseum were the word when I lived there – but, they did actually play the ” BCT ” once in’94 – as a’ Benefit’ Show… Bobby, Phil & Jerry!
