So, if you were all present & accounted for – perfect on your East Coast G. And then you made the truck-out to Irvine, for the Irvine Meadows Ampitheatre Shows – in California! ? !! ? ! Deserve a ” Deadhead Gold Medal “, of some sort – no doubt at all. I mean you have just Got! To love the design on this one… You’ve got a’ Steal Your Face! Signifying the 2-night Irvine run – all by itself! And then you’ve got a map/scope! Narrowing in on the Northeast & Mid-Atlantic runs – listing each consecutive city on the Tour! Grateful Dead high-tech’80’s T-Shirt design, right? As this one is light-Years! Beyond your average & plain CBGB shirt, right?? ! But seriously, just take one look at the back of this near 30-Year Old treasure, and I think you’ll agree. Check out that mid-’80’s ” Grateful Dead ” font too? Looks very ” Greek Theatre ” style, well… At least to my eyes & mind! Heck, this Shirt looks like a tactical Tour-itinerary! Dang, and it never seemed quite this organized? Well, speaking for myself – that is… With my Tour Crew! Ahhh, the Good Ol” Daze’… But, as for the front of this Shirt.. The one & only ” GD ” Lightning-Bolt Heart Logo!!! A front & center symbol on the front of your G. Tee to show what you stand for… That’s right >>> Love! One of the Coolest Dead Shirts of all-time, at least to my eye – and Stellar! Condition too, might I add. Just check out the photos! Oh, and I almost forgot…. How about the Shirt-Color! This one only gets better & better. Kinda like this’86 Spring Tour too – believe it. Magic all over this Tour, and – this is the Pre-’87 Era too, if – you know what I mean, and where I’m coming from on that. Well, my personal moment of magic on this Tour – it’s an easy one. And hopefully, you too were there, or are at least in the know. The 2nd Night, of the 3-Night Spectrum run. Set I is nice, and you can just tell they are on it – and things might just get hot You know, one of ” Those ” nights… Alabama > Greatest opener – Dire Wolf > Rooster, Brown Eyed Women – Esau! – Ramble On Rose – El Paso… Nice & even among the Band, but – it does feel kinda light Bobby is hungry! Garcia calls for 1/2 Step Mississippi > Bobby drives in into Women Are Smarter! Garcia drops down a High Time, and then… Ace calls for the’ Bob Weir Show’, on a straight-up Power-house Sailor > Saint!!! This drives steadily into Drums… And then – ” It ” happened. Garcia finds the sweetest of sweet treble lines, after the calming of a ravaging Drums > Space! And it’s on >>> The Dew!!!!! And Fans, this Morning Dew is an explosion of Brilliance, Passion & Fire!!! And, I know it’s probably hard to believe, but this Dew was so unbelievably Hot! – that the Band? I kid you not. It was like a Walk-Off Home-Run! They must have just looked at each other, and realistically figured – well, who can top that? ! ?? Not even us, and we’re The Grateful Dead! Then, to’ continue’ to write Mid-’80’s Rock & Roll History on this Spectrum night, they come back for an Encore, and Ace just DESTROYS!!! Gonna Wait, Wait – Wait-Wait… Till’ The Midnight Hour!!!!!!! Some of the hottest-stuff-ever, by the Best-Band-Ever! Well Fans, so – here’s the Shirt! Enjoy this one, and wear it with a little-bit of that Mid-’80’s G. Shirt designed by Tim Harris! – the Last-Ever ” Dead Shirt ” issued for the Massive! Twenty Years So Far!! Offered here is the Very-Rare! – Featuring an Amazing Art Design by Tim Harris aka. You know, think back now – this is the one that features both and Hour Glass, and a Winged-Father Time… In my opinion, one of the truly quintessential G. T-Shirt images of the Mid-1980’s! And as for ” Father-Time “? Well, we all know the story there – but not to sound like a Red Bull commercial… This one has Wings!! I mean how Grateful Deadie is that a word? – I don’t know… But I like this ring it gives. Looking into it, it appears he is generally depicted as an elderly bearded man – dressed in a robe (as we know) – usually carrying an Hour Glass (or other timekeeping device) and/or Scythe (both present in this image). But as for the Wings? ! Well, his image comes from a various mix of’ Historic! Sources coming from both ” Chronus ” (the Greek God of Time) – and – ” The Grim Reaper “. We won’t go there, but how Grateful Deadie – once again!! So, I suppose the ” Wings ” are derived from the ” Chronus ” side, as there is really no better way to’ fly’ into one year to the next… As time slowly or even quickly! Not to get too deep here. Fact is, as that calendar flips really any-year from 1966 to 1992… Is there any better way to spend it, than seeing the Grateful Dead! ? ! This is a ” New Year’s Eve ” G. Offered here is indeed one of the Quintessential! ” for a cause ” Shirts made for the Grateful Dead!! In fact, this shirt could possibly be considered ” The ” main cause shirt of the 1990’s — with this shirt design 1st entering the Grateful Dead universe in 1989. It is indeed a ” Mikio ” (John Mikio Kennedy) art design – famous for numerous! Shirts all throughout the 1980’s, dating back to’80 – and maybe even prior? One thing is for certain – you indeed know a ” Mikio ” when you see one. I don’t know who out there caught the 1991 Giants stadium Shows? But if you did… You were not only part of some seriously quality Live Grateful Dead at those Shows, but you also might have seen yourself on T. As live-segments from these two shows were used in a Nationally Broadcast ” Rainforest Special ” which included some heavy duty Dead! Eyes of the World – Saint of Circumstance, etc.. And this broadcast (which aired after the Shows), also included some serious (yet, still totally hilarious) interview footage with the Band! Point being, this was a cause that the band was extremely serious about helping, and spreading awareness among Dead Fans, and beyond however they could. And obviously, through the Rex Foundation. With the Cal Expo dates on the backside, instead. So, this one here is indeed the 1st generation ” Vintage-Original “, and it is even the Long-Sleeved version too… Which you obviously hardly-ever! See anymore here today – well over 35-Years! Tag Size / Brand : Large (L) / Anvil 100% Cotton Pre-Shrunk / Made in U. Pit-to-Pit = 22″ Length = 29″. As I always like to say… Only the Grateful Dead could write a song and perform it live for the ” 1st ” time (in 1982) — and then’ casually’ have it become a Major Hit!! Just a cool 5-Years later!!!!! Truly one of their Greatest! It’s the Vintage-Original 1987 Grateful Dead Merchandising, Inc. T-Shirt — that obviously has the’ tongue-in-cheek’ image of the Touch of Grey MTV Video!!! We’ve all seen that right? – and have seen the Pooch on stage, running across the stage with Mickey’s leg-bone, right? In’93 at Cal Expo Bobby said It’s Even Better Than T. A pretty darn hot version too, may I add. But, that was’93 — but in’87… Was better, because the Grateful Dead had a Prime-Time MTV Video!!! Does anyone out there still remember ” Day of the Dead ” – or, maybe it was ” Dawn of the Dead “! ? Well, one way or another – it was like a hours! Long series of Grateful Dead Live!
