Ll Dead Fans are mostly on the same-page in regard to the sheer Importance! Of the 1975 ” Blues For Allah ” Album. This was the Grateful Dead’s ” Comeback ” after all, following a group hiatus – which nearly led to a complete dis-banding! Oh my, what would we all have done throughout the Late 70’s & 1980’s? ! ? Well, thankfully that was not the case – however, as Grateful Dead ” images ” go – it is tough to beat this one : ” Blues For Allah ” – is right up there with Steal Your Face! ” & ” Bertha Skeleton & Roses! However, those were invented during the arguable ” Golden Era ” of the Band, while this image on the other hand represented Magnificent! Change’ & Transformation for The Grateful Dead! I can only imagine some of the fan-reactions when they first heard their ” Allah ” Album – wow! And especially being there to see it performed ” Live ” during those so very few & precious 1975 chances!! The funny thing is, probably just about the exact same thing happened a couple years later when they also heard ” Terrapin Station “! ? ! These were interesting times indeed, and in my opinion this is the quintessential image from this way-beyond exciting time for the Grateful Dead. And as for this Shirt itself? This is a Shirt made by Grateful Dead Productions 1987! You bet Dead Fans… This one clocks in now at close to 40-Years old! ? ! A true 1973 first-pressing of the “Wake of the Flood” promo shirt, featuring Rick Griffin’s iconic Farmer artwork. This is printed on the highly desirable 1970s Red Hanes 100% Cotton tag-not the thinner 50/50 blend. Year: 1973 (Original Album Release). Tag: Authentic Red Hanes 100% Cotton (Tagged Large, fits like 19 pit-to-pit). Construction: Period-correct Single-Stitch hem and sleeves. Fabric: 100% Heavy Cotton with that unmistakable 70s texture and vintage fade. Condition: Great vintage shape. This shirt has zero holes, tears, or repairs, which is incredible for a 50-year-old cotton garment. Bright Blue Sky in the background, plush Green Grass, and Red Roses entwined everywhere – with, naturally… One of the Key! Air Arena Cap Centre! , and last but not least… In fact, this was actually the Last & Final ” Fall Tour ” of the Grateful Dead – so, as a result… This Shirt represents the Band’s last tour stops ever at the Boston Garden, U. , and even at Madison Square Garden! And, as for the Spectrum – it was lucky enough to get treated to a Hot! 3-Show stand on the’95 Spring Tour. But, for the other three Venues here… It was a mutual Fare Thee Well! No one knew at the time. But, in hindsight – probably always better that way. Well, for what it’s worth – I always thought that this was one of the Coolest! Tour Shirts – not only from the 1994 Touring Year, but also in the entire 1990’s! So Unique, Colorful, and just flat-out Fun!!!
