Vintage Original 1994 Issued Shirt Featuring the Legendary!!! 1974 Philip Garris Art design The Fiddler! – used for the Epic! 1975 ” Blues For Allah “… All Dead Fans are mostly on the same page in regard to the importance of the ” Blues For Allah ” album. This was the Grateful Dead’s ” Comeback ” after all, following a group hiatus – which nearly led to a complete dis-banding! Oh my, what would we all have done throughout the Late 70’s & 1980’s? ! ? Well, thankfully that was not the case – however, as Grateful Dead ” images ” go – it is tough to beat this one : ” The Fiddler ” (1974) by Philip Garris – the base art design used for the 1975 ” Blues For Allah ” Album!!! Right up there all the way for-certain with Steal Your Face! ” & ” Bertha Skeleton & Roses claim to G. However, while those were obviously invented before & during the ” Golden ” era of the Band, this ” Fiddler ” image on the other hand – represented ” magnificent change & transformation ” for new-look & new-sound! I can only imagine some of the fan-reactions when they first heard their very-first ” Allah ” album play in’75 – Wow! And especially being there to see it performed ” Live ” during those so very few & precious 1975 chances!! The funny thing is, probably just about the exact same thing happened a couple years later when they also heard ” Terrapin Station “! ? ! These were interesting times indeed, and in my opinion this is the Quintessential! Image from this way-beyond exciting time for the Grateful Dead. And as for this Shirt itself? This is a Shirt made in 1994! You bet Dead Fans… This one now clocks-in at around 30-Years Old! Where does the time-go! ? On this one – in full-on Deadhead Tuxedo regalia!! & with a Rose!!! Fall in all Dead Tour! Veterans, because here it is! ” The ” – ” It’s Worth The Trip ” Smokin’ Uncle Sam Shirt!!! So, if you were on tour in the Late-80’s & Early-90’s, you might be well aware that this Legendary ” lot shirt ” hit the scene for the 1st time during the 1987 Spring / Summer Tours – but then it seemed to magically disappear. Still seen on the backs of proud Deadheads, naturally… But strangely not available for sale? ! ? Well, you know – it happens. However, once’94 rolled around – Yes! This one made the long-awaited ” return ” to the parking lots – due to’ popular demand’, or at least I would think so. To my knowledge, this was not only the official return, but it was also the’ debut’ of the ” Summer 1994 ” version created – to a whole new generation of Dead Fans. Well – Old & New, of course. This one hit the scene for the’94 Summer Tour, and then again I believe only one-more-time – which was the’94 Fall version (with ” Santa-Jerry ” on the back) for the’94 Winter Tour… Which was West Coast only. Point being – this is now Your chance for a true piece of Dead Fan T-Shirt Art Lot Style! You just don’t seen too many of these around over the last two (2) decades, and this one is in fantastic shape, with consideration of its age. In my personal opinion – and for what that’s worth… You really can’t beat the ” Smokin’ Sam ” graphic on the front of this one, and on the back… Well, it speaks for itself – featuring All of the Tour Dates from the fabulous Grateful Dead 1994 Summer Tour!!!!! Grateful Dead 1990-91 New Year’s Eve Tie-Dye!! Truly one of the Coolest! ” Dyes ” ever-made for a G. New Year’s Show!! And really, one of the very-best all across the board!!! Tie-dye – plain shirt – or what have you – you know? ! This one is way-cool – and hey, if you are one that resembles Capricorn… Or should I say ” Capricornus “! — then this one is an absolute must-have. Keep in mind, this was the 2nd to last New Year’s Eve Grateful Dead Show ever played, and on a sad-note, this show was indeed the last N. Show that Bill Graham ever saw… With that beyond untimely loss occurring in’91. From what I can tell, Bill Graham and his spirit pretty much Was! New Year’s Eve to the Grateful Dead, as they would only play one more N. Show following in 1991 – and then that would be it… Well, these are probably the main reasons that the 1991-92 New Year’s Run even happened. As the Dead were certainly not the type to back out, but – because of the unfortunate timeliness of the situation, that Show & run did go on. But talk about a bitter-sweet run. While on the other hand, this 1990-91 was the last of the ” Real Deal ” really… Because it included Bill, through & through. And on a much lighter & brighter note – something that is quite cool… Pretty much every (or almost every) Dead Fan in the entire nation sort of felt like they attended this one, because it was a National ” Live ” Radio Broadcast!!! You know, kind of like the’87-’88 Show being Televised, or say the’89 Summer Solstice Show being a Nationwide Pay-per-view Broadcast! It really extended to the masses, because it was just all over the Radio! Talk about welcomed-reach, to the Deadhead Faithful, right? If you didn’t go to this Show, you definitely remember where you were when you listened to it, and probably who you were with — your fellow Dead Fan friends, right?? Seriously quality memory for most all. So in a lot of ways, if this magnificent tie-dye wasn’t cool enough already – then that definitely! Because most all fans know the set list to this hot night. At least to me ears, that was a nice standout. And as for the design itself? Speaks for itself – Timepieces! And the inclusion of the Capricornus! – Steal Your Faces! – and the Works!! Of, and of course too… One of the ultimate Grateful Dead New Years Eve Shows’ staples’ — Balloons!!! Ooops – better keep those staples away from those balloons though – Ha! Watch Jerry just kidding… I mean Bobby Ace! Kick one right-off the stage!! Oh, as those were the indeed days… And to me, this Beautiful Shirt! Grateful Dead New Years Eve 1990 – 1991!!!!
