Extremely Rare Concert T-Shirt Day on the Green The Who and The Grateful Dead

This is an extremely rare t-shirt for The Day on the Green 8 & 9 concerts on October 9 & 10, 1976 at the Oakland Stadium in Oakland, California. The concerts featured The Who and The Grateful Dead. On Saturday the 9th The Who opened and on Sunday the 10th The Grateful Dead opened. This was the last time the original Who lineup played the Bay area. The front of the shirt is screen printed with the image of a Native American chief with “The Who” printed on his headdress. The festival name is printed below. The back of the shirt features the iconic skull and roses logo for The Grateful Dead with the festival name again printed below. The color has faded to a mellow purple. It is definitely cotton, but I do not know if it’s 100% or a blend. As for the size, the shirt is pretty small which is why I have called it an XS. Please note the dimensions taken flat, one side only. Shoulder to shoulder: 13 inches. Underarm to underarm: 15 inches. Length: 23 1/2 inches. This shirt is in really nice condition considering its 40-year age. There is one tiny pinhole on the front see photo #9. There are some pale pinkish spots loss of color? Here and there, including one on a leaf of the Dead logo see photos #11. One of the spots is a brighter pink see photo #10. No rips or tears or major stains. The Grateful Dead logo has a little big of cracking. The Who logo has almost none. The screen printing actually still has some shine to it, which is remarkable. I’m gonna give ya’ one lassst chance to surrrrenda — or elsse, I’m gonnna blowww or Smoke! Just a little classic tried & true Yosemite Sam lingo for you with a little improv… But, you’ve got your-own too, I’m quite sure of. “Yosemite Sam” Vintage-Original Cartoon lot Shirt from the Glorious! Grateful Dead’92 Summer Tour! Heck, I saw most of the Shows the Band played during the 1992 Touring-year… Or, at least it felt that way – as I distinctly remember feelin’ a little Road-Worn! A number of times… As I saw 10-Shows alone on this here’92 Summer Tour! And, this I know for certain… This Shirt really-really was the’Talk’ of Tour! I mean come on… Just look at the Back! Yosemite Same is Rockin’ Nine “Spleefs” right on his Person!!! He’s hold’en two of them’double-barrel’ style, has another locked tightly in his jaw… And, just for good-measure – an additional Six! Held firmly in his Ammo-belt!!! I mean he’s almost got more Hooters than I saw Shows on this Summer Tour!!! I mean you had better Look-Out Buggs Bunny – or else he might just Stone’Ya! Maybe he’ll take it easy on Buggs, and will instead let him play a tune or too… On that’Other One’ — the TM! Wow, I just Knew! That I was gonna get carried away a little when even attempting to describe this one’professionally’! Is that even possible? ! … Take a look quick! — as Sam’s Eyes are pretty darn Red!! Better get that Visine! Better be careful with that too though, I suppose… As afterall – this is Dead Tour’92!!! That we are talking about here. Just look at all of these Dancin’ Bears Smilin’! – with even a couple of them being Electric!!! “Dead Tour 92″ on the top of the Shirt… With “92” even getting Rocked in a Wreath-of-Roses!!! And, for the front of this Shirt… Shrine-like emblem design, and a couple more Dancin’ Bears down below! Such a Crazy-cool’Color-pattern’ on the shirt material too, as the photos provided can nicely show you! Basically & in a nut shell… This is one of the Raddest! Tour’Lot’ Shirts of all-time, and too… It would be pretty tough as well to find another Shirt that is any “Funnier”!!!!! Those’92 Summer “Star Lake” Shows were so far up in PA, that it almost felt like we drove into WVA? ! ? It was all-good, because I remember chattin’ & laughin’ about this one all the way from RFK!!! Heck, this was one that you even had to keep in the trunk, instead of on your body while driving the road on Dead Tour! Just in case you got pulled over, and Mr. Police Officer asked you to step out of the car for driving too fast… One quick’turn-around’ by you – and he would be dealing with a one-on-one’Showdown’… And then, You! Might promptly be missing your’Shakedown’ Show-Opener!!! I guess it is good that the Boys only played it on the beginning of Tour – at the Giants Show!!! So — what do You! Say my fellow Dead Fans… Is this Dead Shirt design – a 10 out of 10? That’s a real tall order & all — but I definitely think so! Gotta love this Rock & Roll Treasure…..
