The year was 1994, the 2nd to last ever Touring-Year of the Grateful Dead – and the Rock Art & G. Philip Garris delivered this!! ? ! Without any question at all – one of the Finest! Rock Artifacts & T-Shirt! Rock Artifacts from the 1990’s Grateful Dead Era! This one truly stands the test of time any! I mean I’m not sure it’s even possible to make a T-Shirt any cooler than this… Paying respect to the U. Uncle Sam Skeleton in his Top Hat – Red Roses all around… With this Uncle Sam Skeleton’s ” Axe ” of choice being a Red! Doug Irwin body style & head stock Electric Guitar!!! One of the best-ever, at least in my opinion – though I don’t think that I’m alone… I assume you are Well! Familiar with the 1974 Philip Garris G. Rock art Masterpiece ” The Fiddler ” – as it was selected for the Cover Art of the 1975 Grateful Dead ” Come-Back / Return ” Album release… Garris created ” The Fiddler” design in 1974, and it was used immediately by the Grateful Dead in 1975 – and, not just on the Album… As it was used on T-Shirts! And all kinds of other assorted G. Turn the clock forward 20-Years… And Garris delivers This-One!!! In the Grateful Dead Touring-Year of 1994! So, my assumption is that this was an Art movement to commemorate the Legendary! 75 Fiddler design – as in this period, Garris actually delivered three (3) designs… A re-issue of the 1974/75 ” The Fiddler “, another new design ” Bertha & The Golden Bear ” (1995)… Of a design (1994)… A USA Top Hat Uncle Sam Skeleton & Roses – Playing a Doug Irwin style Electric Guitar!!! So yes, 20-Years later – and Philip Garris is still! Delivering Rock Art of Legendary! For the Good Ol’ Grateful Dead!!! I mean hey, at the end of 1994 & 1995 for the Grateful Dead – times became a little bit difficult… But, as I’ll distinctly never-ever forget at the time – there were’ fresh’ Art designs coming out at this magnitude & importance for the Grateful Dead. And, I just knew! That these were still indeed very-special times… For the Band, for the Artists, and for the loyal Dead Fans! And, here we are now 30-Years! After the fact, and… My goodness – I was right. In my personal opinion, this’94 Garris design here – stands right up there at the Top! I believe this’94 Shirt was only issued on a Black Shirt, and on this way-cool Dead Red! Providing, as the photos very-well show – a nothing short of Stellar! Background & contrast for this Amazing! One of the Rarest! And, without question – One of the Best!!!
