Art Design Style Very-Rare!! One of the Coolest-Designs! From this Mid-’90’s G. That barely Anyone – has Ever-Seen!!!!! Offered here is one of the Neatest, Rarest, and Coolest! GDM Grateful Dead Merchandising, Inc. Shirts manufactured in the Mid-90’s (1994, to be precise), just prior to Jerry Garcia’s untimely passing in 1995. In other words, there was really only 1-year for you to see this Shirt on the road – during Dead Tour… But I will never forget the very first time I saw it in Oakland – at the Coliseum!!! I mean you know, naturally… And that Classic Lot-Scene!! The guy I saw wearing this one, was actually moving some other Shirts, Trinkets & Stuff in the lot – and we quickly got into one of those… So, is the Shirt you are’ Wearing’ for sale, too?? ! You know, as that sometimes can serve as the ultimate T-Shirt Compliment! As it has to be ” For Sale ” first, right? I’ve seen it done! – in the’90’s!! And I think this guy was 100% serious? ! ? I declined, but in hindsight? I had to wear it to the Show! To do my Rock’n Roll & G. Civic Duty to deliver some Smiles!!! Well, that was the 1st time I saw this one, and then again in Eugene! – and the 1st one was on a’ White’ Tee (just like this one), and the 2nd one that I saw was on a’ Green’ Tee. Don’t get me wrong, but I think this design-itself’ explodes’ just a little bit better on the’ White’!!! As, can so often be the case. But as for this design? One where I can just let the photos do all of the talking, as this one – at least to my eye… Is the Real Deal!!! And part of that naturally… Couldn’t have been too many made of these… Just an instant Classic! – so, not sure why? Maybe it’s just that nobody wants to part with theirs! The Modern Graffiti-Art Paint Look on this design, and the way that it so Brightly & Boldly Shines! It’s almost like some Graffiti on the side of some cargo train on the track, but I guess what’s really cool – is that You! Are the Train wearing it… There is definitely a future-esque – maybe almost Alien? Thing going on with this design, but then again sometimes when I look at it – I don’t see it quite so much. The one thing that has me personally just a tad stumped, is the ” Tear “? Not sure of the significance, as this couldn’t be a ” Jerry ” thing, as this one was made in 1994 – so… I’m thinking it’s probably Environmentally related, as the Band was all over the Environmental ” Issues ” in this Mid-’90’s period, and especially the Rainforest! But they were always after some kind of collective-change, and that along with many reasons is why we love them! So, I’m thinking that’s the cause for the tear – and I’m doubtful it will’ dry’ until Humans stop consciously choosing to not put the Earth First! I don’t know, but this G. Design just’ does-it’ for my eyes, and I’m not even certain who designed this one – but, I do know one thing that starts with a ” T “… Shirt, and one your Friends most-definitely won’t have… Tag Size/Brand : Large (L) / Signal Sport Pit-to-Pit = 22″ Length = 28″ As this is a lightly used and well taken care of shirt – here is the only issue that stands out to my eye upon very close inspection : >>> some light brown marks & yellowing of shirt fabric (please see photos/close-up photos). For 1980’s Grateful Dead – and Presto! – just like that… Here we come 1990’s! And my oh my… Were the Grateful Dead on Fire!!! Period in the midst, and arguably the overall Best! The Boys had ever been… In the opinion of many Dead Fans. So, with the occasion at hand – Reonegro well-knew it was time to deliver a Huge! Image for the Band… And my goodness did he Deliver! In the fantastic form of the Grateful Dead ” 25th Anniversary ” Top Hat & Sunglasses… And keep in mind too – on the timeline here, for sure – as at this specific point in time… Reonegro had yet to even begin delivering his Amazingly-Artistic line of Backstage Passes for the Grateful Dead… As his 1st ” Puzzle Pass ” didn’t even debut until months later – on the Massive! Just check out the photos provided, my fellow Dead Fans and Rock & Roll Art Lovers – as this is one that Purely! Grateful Dead ” New Year’s ” Shirts of all-time… But I also consider it to be one of the overall Coolest!! ” Dead Shirts ” of all-time. I mean after all – this is an’ early’ G. Reonegro we are talking about here who started doing Shirt Designs for the Dead right around the 1988 Spring Tour… And, by the end of 1989 — This!!! Talk about a quickly Artistic learning curve – wow… Giving the Dead Fans what they want, and in pure Late-’80’s & Early-’90’s style & fashion! What makes this Shirt really-really neat, rare & highly-collectible in the Rock & Roll Vintage World – is that this is a design where Reonegro went with a ” Graffiti ” theme in the concept – making the world ” Grateful ” and the background design… Just look simply amazing to the Rock & Roll and Art eye — a Stunning!
