From the looks of the photo itself, I would have to say the image is probably from 1987 ” Fall Tour “. The Tak is a bit of Dead Ha! Grateful Dead Shirt T Shirt Vintage 1993 Summer Tour Skeleton River Swim GDM XL
Grateful Dead Shirt : Vintage Original (Genuine / Authentic) : 1993 : Summer Tour’93! – Summer’93 Tour Tee!!’93 Grateful Dead Merchandise, Inc. : X Large (XL) : Very-Rare!! – The River Diving Swimming Skeleton!!! Just like Bobby Weir once said during Lovelight Greek’86! Well Dead Fans, here indeed is The! (Official GDM) Grateful Dead Shirt made for the 1993 Summer Tour!!! Hard – to believe it is now over 30-Years-Ago!! ? !! But, totally true – Wow! And to me at least, the fantastic graphics on this one just say ” Summertime ” all over it. After all, there is nothing quite-like sporting some Lightning-Bolt Board shorts, turning your Cap backwards, grabbing your Beverage of choice! And just Diving Right In – Head First! And to boot, you can even lose your Wallet, Keys & Change too! During all of this excitement. Hey, even if the sign-posted does say No Swimmin’! Our fellow Deadhead Skeleton-friend has some mighty-nice diving form here too, wouldn’t you say? Look out Team U. One of the coolest, uniquest, rarest & even’ Gooniest’ Dead Shirts I ever saw during my touring days – agreed?? And even made’ Officially’ by GDM!! Well, on to more serious Dead-chat… This was indeed one-fine Tour in’93, in my opinion. I caught the 2 RFK shows, and was impressed with how truly-hearty the Boys looked – and how much they still had to give at the end of this quite-long’ 1st half’ of the heavily-toured 1993. I’ll never forget the bouncy Aiko, nor the solid China > Rider from these D. I also saw Shoreline & Expo prior, and was almost-certain those shows would be hard to top obviously… But I was pleasantly surprised indeed! 93 Expo, still obviously being Late-Legendary Live Grateful Dead! – for all of the various reasons you can hear on the tapes! The Band’s Triumphant-Return! To the one & only Mighty Autzen Stadium! Were the next Shows for me, and as we all know – Whoa! – did those shows ever speak for themselves. Though I may be in the minority, I personally feel that’93 was possibly the very best Grateful Dead overall… After Brent’s untimely passing after Summer Tour’90. They got back to the basics i. One Keyboard-Player , like the Grateful Dead should be. I liked Vince myself, and felt he definitely had both the chops & energy to carry the weight, and the load. Also, this was a little period of Jerry-resurgence, where he appeared really-happy, quite-healthy & clearly appeared to be taking nice care of himself. This, I first noticed at the’93 Mardi Gras run in Oakland in February – pretty exciting! So very sweet to see… So yep, here is ” The “’93 Summer G. Shirt – the Sweet Summertime… River-Diving Swimming Skeleton GDM Tour Tee!! Definitely one of the very coolest-designed G. Shirts on the’93 East Coast Summer Tour! Shirt — but remember… ” Early-’90’s ” G. As they just don’t make them quit-like’ This! & Best of Luck too with your Diving! – to find those Keys!! Grateful Dead Summer Tour’93!!!! Tag Size / Brand : Extra Large (X-Large / XL) / Fruit of the Loom 100% Cotton Preshrunk / Made In U. Pit-to-Pit = 24″ Length = 31″ As this is a used vintage shirt showing significant signs of use and wear – here are the issues that stand out to my eye upon very close inspection : >>> fraying of the collar (please see photos/close-up photos). >>> soiling/staining throughout the shirt (please see photos/close-up photos). >>> fading of the design (please see photos/close-up photos). Please see all photos provided…
Grateful Dead Shirt T Shirt Vintage 1989 Halloween Pumpkin Roses Mikio GDM M
Grateful Dead Shirt : Vintage Original (Genuine / Authentic) : 1989 : Halloween Pumpkin! John’ Mikio’ Kennedy Art Design! 1989 Grateful Dead Merchandise, Inc. (’89 GDM) : Medium (M) : The 1989 Fall Tour Built To Last! – Mikio Art Designed! Skull & Roses Halloween Pumpkin Shirt! – for the 1989 Grateful Dead’ Built To Last! – in conjunction with the The’ Last & Final’ G. Vintage Rock Shirt Collector’s! – and all Loyal Fans of’ Real-Deal’ Live Rock & Roll!!! Of an’89 Tour Grateful Dead Shirt – and, quite frankly, I’m not even sure you have to be a Deadhead to Love this one.. But, of course – it certainly does help! Gosh, I mean the’ meaning’ of this Shirt, and the Amazing Graphics Images! On this Shirt are so incredibly amazing in it’s history & background, that I could go on, and on… Well, initially – the Grateful Dead had the ultra-talented G. Design this one, with the intention of using it – in conjunction with Arista records for a promotional launch release of the Grateful Dead’s latest Album… And, in very-fine G. Prankster-eque fashion – in hindsight, though obviously not knowing at all then… This Album would indeed become the Last & Final Grateful Dead studio Album! All’60’s &’70’s G. Purists likely disagreeing – but, there is certainly a valid side to that story! But that-conversation, is for another later day indeed… So – Arista developed a nice little marketing campaign for this’ Built To Last’ Album which included all kinds of cool stuff, with’ Built To Last’ Playing Cards being one of the very-cool parts of the launch! During the’89 Fall Tour – these neat little promo cards were handed out to Fans inside Shows, in the Breezeways, Marketing Booths, and such – and, they were a Playing Card on one side, and on the other side? Yep, you guessed it… This here Mikio Design!!! The Halloween Pumpkin Skull & Roses Logo! — with, a cool little slogan on the cards below the image that read ” On Halloween The Dead Rise Again “!!! The reason in this, is because’ Built To Last’ had a scheduled official release date by GDP & Arista – of 10/31/89! Right smack dab on the day of Halloween!!! So, along with much other cool stuff too… And, as the photos very-well show – you could argue that it is truly once of the Neatest! Grateful Dead Shirt designs of all time. So, on the initial surface – this is already just about as cool, as cool can get! On the front of the Shirt, and ” Grateful Dead ” printed in a very Fall-meets-Halloweenie Font! On the back of the Shirt. Then, you can just leave it to the Good Ol’ Grateful Dead – making it even Cooler! Too — since they played one of the most’ Welcomed’ little trick in the History of Rock & Roll! They booked the East Coast leg Tour Openers at the Hampton Coliseum in Virginia – as their ” 1st ” Band name… And from that point on… This Tour was Beyond-Explosive!!!!! Was happening as they dug way-way deep in that Good Ol’ Song Vault, and began delivering Dead Fan-staggering! > Franklin’s Tower… And, not only did these Fan-favorites & Band-favorites too get delivered all throughout this’89 Fall Tour… But, they were for the most part kept in the G. Live song-rotation all the way through the Early / Mid’90’s! So, you could have been on Tour religiously! With the Dead in the’70’s &’80’s, and… There was still a real good chance that you never caught any of these tunes live. But, in’89 – Everyone! Could change that – by getting themselves a ticket & going to see the Band! So, in other words… As it goes without even saying – this was indeed beyond! For the Grateful Dead, and a way more then welcomed one too – as this material was played with Passion, Fire, and Attack! And they were so Incredibly-Hot! In this period, and were really re-defining what being in-the-groove really means. So, in a nutshell… Is what this Shirt represents, to say the very-least. The Miko-designed Halloween Pumpkin – Skull & Roses! One that is still! Definitely ” Built To Last “!!! Much-much more than just your average, yet Excellent! Enjoy this one, and wear it with some Festive-Fall & Spooky Deadhead Pride!!!!
