And as you were probably there yourself – or, at least hopefully! – there is no need to restate the obvious here… But, this was arguably The Grateful Dead in their Prime! At least one of many. But, to me & my humble Dead Fan ears… And, with Brent so-sadly passing in a way untimely fashion after this Summer’90 Tour – you can clearly see the importance of this peak… Here now well-over 30-Years! I’ve seen a lot of Rock & Roll in my life, and still have to say… It’s the Absolute-Best! Stuff that I ever saw. And, if you were on the Road on the 1990 Summer Tour, or even slightly after – then You! Will most definitely recognize ” This ” Shirt – one of the very-best from those vital Shakedown Street strips, at ever venue, everywhere. Right on I say… And just-like that Good Ol’ Tour bumper sticker once so-proudly read… ” – ” Heads On Tour 1990 – 1990 Summer Tour… The ” 25th ” Anniversary of the Grate-est! As this is a brand new (never worn/never washed & “Collected” only) vintage-original collectible shirt – here are the issues that stand out to my eye upon very close inspection. >>> one (1) dark-brownish stain approx. 1/2 on the shirt material fabric, located on the back bottom right side of the shirt (please see photos/close-up photo #10). >>> white threads piece from the manufacturing process showing through the outside left shoulder, which can easily be carefully-cut/removed if so desired (please see photos). >>> very-slight cracking of the design emblem images, and very-light signs of natural aging on the shirt material fabric from long-term storage – over 40-years (please see photos). Notes : Regarding the’ white-threads piece’… This is actually a great-sign to the serious vintage Collector – as the presence of external threads like these from the vintage Early-’80’s Shirt manufacturing process – still hanging-out as it is, in the place in which it is hanging out (‘ outside’ the shoulder) — just goes to show that this Shirt is still brand new, and has never been worn. Vintage Original 1994 Issued Shirt Featuring the Legendary!!! 1974 Philip Garris Art design The Fiddler! – used for the Epic! 1975 ” Blues For Allah “… All Dead Fans are mostly on the same page in regard to the importance of the ” Blues For Allah ” album. This was the Grateful Dead’s ” Comeback ” after all, following a group hiatus – which nearly led to a complete dis-banding! Oh my, what would we all have done throughout the Late 70’s & 1980’s? ! ? Well, thankfully that was not the case – however, as Grateful Dead ” images ” go – it is tough to beat this one : ” The Fiddler ” (1974) by Philip Garris – the base art design used for the 1975 ” Blues For Allah ” Album!!! Right up there all the way for-certain with Steal Your Face! ” & ” Bertha Skeleton & Roses claim to G. However, while those were obviously invented before & during the ” Golden ” era of the Band, this ” Fiddler ” image on the other hand – represented ” magnificent change & transformation ” for new-look & new-sound! I can only imagine some of the fan-reactions when they first heard their very-first ” Allah ” album play in’75 – Wow! And especially being there to see it performed ” Live ” during those so very few & precious 1975 chances!! The funny thing is, probably just about the exact same thing happened a couple years later when they also heard ” Terrapin Station “! ? ! These were interesting times indeed, and in my opinion this is the Quintessential! Image from this way-beyond exciting time for the Grateful Dead. And as for this Shirt itself? This is a Shirt made in 1994! You bet Dead Fans… This one now clocks-in at around 30-Years Old! Where does the time-go! ? A true’90’s vintage time-capsule treasure here, representing the one & only… Thank You Philip Garris for giving all the Deadhead Faithful a Beyond-Legendary! And of course, hey G.
