From the New Year’s Eve! – designed by Tony Reonegro!! – and Fans of the most Grateful! And Rock & Roll Art… As offered here indeed is the Super-Artistic, Ultra-Rare & Beyond-Amazing! For 1980’s Grateful Dead – and Presto! – just like that… Here we come 1990’s! And my oh my… Were the Grateful Dead on Fire!!! Period in the midst, and arguably the overall Best! The Boys had ever been… In the opinion of many Dead Fans. So, with the occasion at hand – Reonegro well-knew it was time to deliver a Huge! Image for the Band… And my goodness did he Deliver! In the fantastic form of the Grateful Dead ” 25th Anniversary ” Top Hat & Sunglasses… And keep in mind too – on the timeline here, for sure – as at this specific point in time… Reonegro had yet to even begin delivering his Amazingly-Artistic line of Backstage Passes for the Grateful Dead… As his 1st ” Puzzle Pass ” didn’t even debut until months later – on the Massive! Just check out the photos provided, my fellow Dead Fans and Rock & Roll Art Lovers – as this is one that Purely! Grateful Dead ” New Year’s ” Shirts of all-time… But I also consider it to be one of the overall Coolest!! ” Dead Shirts ” of all-time. I mean after all – this is an’ early’ G. Reonegro we are talking about here who started doing Shirt Designs for the Dead right around the 1988 Spring Tour… And, by the end of 1989 — This!!! Talk about a quickly Artistic learning curve – wow… Giving the Dead Fans what they want, and in pure Late-’80’s & Early-’90’s style & fashion! What makes this Shirt really-really neat, rare & highly-collectible in the Rock & Roll Vintage World – is that this is a design where Reonegro went with a ” Graffiti ” theme in the concept – making the world ” Grateful ” and the background design… Just look simply amazing to the Rock & Roll and Art eye — a Stunning! Effort by Antonio Reonegro here… Skeleton would later even make it on to some Grateful Dead Backstage Passes for the 1990 Summer & Fall Tours – but, the design form was different, without the Graffiti style… So, naturally – this was the 1st & the Debut! Sure makes this Fan miss his Oaktown Shows… And my Good Ol”80’s &’90’s Grateful Dead too – right smack-dab in Oaktown!!! Pit to Pit = 21″ Length = 27″ As this is a heavily used vintage-worn collectible rock shirt, here are the issues that stand out to my eye upon very close inspection : >>> three (3) small-medium sized holes; one (1) located on left front sleeve, and two (2) located on shirt back – near collar area (please see photos/photos #8 & #11). >>> stains and discoloration fading spots on shirt material fabric (please see photos/photos #9 & #10). Logo design GDM Shirt from’94!!! A Mid-’90’s Dead Fan Favorite! — & One of the Coolest! Modern-Era (Pre-’95) Grateful Dead Shirt Designs!!!! And naturally, those who know the’ Real-Deal’ Dead Tees! When they see one!! Hopefully, you’ll remember this one very-well – and likely from Dead Tour! Offered here indeed is one of the neatest, rarest, and highly-desirable! GDM Grateful Dead Merchandising, Inc. Shirts manufactured in the Mid-90’s, prior to Jerry Garcia’s untimely passing. In other words, there was really only 1-year for you to even see this shirt on the road – during Dead Tour… But I will never forget the very first time I saw it – in Seattle, Washington right smack-dab under the Space Needle!! So, I did the rightful thing (like any good Dead Fan would do) – and gave the Wow, that is a Great Shirt! And naturally, it was taken in with a Big Smile & a Thanks! In my personal opinion, this is indeed one of the very-coolest G. Tees of the Mid-’90’s. It was designed by Marc Almera in’94, and it is a truly amazing & eye-catching design to say the least… One that completely speaks for itself. An ” Aged ” looking Steal Your Face & GD carved inside a stone-like Aztec/Mayan culture design pattern Beautiful! Which entirely surrounds these symbols. I believe this slate-blue color shirt was actually the only! Shirt color, that this design was made on – and it is pretty clear why… As this unique ” slate-blue ” background provides an absolutely Perfect! Contrast for this brilliant design to shine brightly & boldly – while at the same time, in a very subtle, classic & tasteful way. On the back, you have ” Grateful Dead ” written in a totally-unique & awesome! Font (Aztec/Mayan-style, once again) in G. Red, White & Blue! Which I cannot recall ever seeing on any T-Shirts, Tickets, Posters, etc.. Prior to on being debuted on this’94 shirt. Design here, if I may. However, it really does looks like it would have been a way-ideal logo for G. But I don’t think it was ever used for that purpose – or for any other? ! ? It probably really should have been though – but, it’s probably even cooler now since it wasn’t and was only featured on this amazing Dead Shirt! All the rarer, for certain. What a fantastic GD Shirt!!! Rare, unique, awesome & simply Beautiful! This is a Lightly (Barely) Used Vintage Original Collectible clothing item from 1994 in Excellent!
