And especially all of you fellow ” In The Darkers ” out there – hey, don’t worry… I’m one too! This Shirt here, is not only one of the most Coolest! Official GDM T-Shirts out there… But it is also one of the most Important & Quintessential! When you are talking ” 80’s Dead ” – and for me, that’s a topic that I have cherished life-long! The Grateful Dead established themselves as’ the’ premiere Live Improvisational Psychedelic Rock band in the Late-’60’s, and also into the’70’s… But in the’80’s – they became Both!! The greatest Live’ Psychedelic’ Rock Band — and also the premiere Live’ Rock’n Roll’ Band too!!! As I buddy of mine once said… Man, I really prefer my’80’s Dead – as they are just more Rockin’! Classic comment, and depending on your’ own’ ears & taste – it’s kinda true! So, Whistle through you teeth & spit… Because, It’s Alright…. Because then, came ” In the Dark “… And especially ” Touch of Grey “! As I always like to say… Only the Grateful Dead could write a song and perform it live for the ” 1st ” time (in 1982) — and then’ casually’ have it become a Major Hit!! Just a cool 5-Years later!!!!! Truly one of their Greatest! It’s the Vintage-Original 1987 Grateful Dead Merchandising, Inc. T-Shirt — that obviously has the’ tongue-in-cheek’ image of the Touch of Grey MTV Video!!! We’ve all seen that right? – and have seen the Pooch on stage, running across the stage with Mickey’s leg-bone, right? In’93 at Cal Expo Bobby said It’s Even Better Than T. A pretty darn hot version too, may I add. But, that was’93 — but in’87… Was better, because the Grateful Dead had a Prime-Time MTV Video!!! Does anyone out there still remember ” Day of the Dead ” – or, maybe it was ” Dawn of the Dead “! ? Well, one way or another – it was like a hours! Long series of Grateful Dead Live! On MTV that just kept going, and going, and going! Well, here’s The Shirt! A couple stray Roses on the ground, everyone’s wearing Sneakers! Puma’s on Jerry? That would be accurate… Jerry’s wearin’ a Blazer! Bob’s got that mean’ol triple-wood grain Modulus! S got a Leather Jacket! – Phil with a Tie-Dye! Drum Stick in the Teeth! And the Vaurnet Cats! – or so it appears – And Brent! It’s too bad they didn’t paint that ” Live Free or Die ” Harley Shirt on him, because for me? I think that was my favorite… Just a few keyboard-keys instead, which is also cool. To say that this one is now close to 40-Years-Old!! ? !!
