Oakland Auditorium – Oakland, California (CA) : December 26,27,28,30,31, 1982 : Vintage-Original Fan Made Lot Tee! 1982 Grateful Dead Happy New Year! Tie-Dye Shirt made for the 1982 – 83 New Years Eve run of Shows! At the Oakland Auditorium!! Offered here is an Ultra-Rare!!! 1982 Grateful Dead Tie-Dye Shirt made for the New Years Eve run of Shows at the beloved Oakland Auditorium Arena in Oakland, California!!! This Rare and Awesomely-designed Shirt likely falls into the almost’ Beyond-Rare’ Collector’s top echelon of Only One In Existence! Who’s to say, I suppose – but this one is not only a beauty in design-itself including the’ old-style’ Tie-Dye! , but in age as it is close to 45-Years old! Personally, I love this Shirt and really think that it encapsulates the true real! Vintage Early-Days of the parking-lot-scene Shirt creativity. I mean check-out the old-school Tie-Dye! You’ve got Mr. Skeleton dancing away – in true New Year’s Eve style… Just like on that floor, or in the breezeways at the Good Ol’ Oakland Auditorium! Later known as the Henry J. And at this point here… These were truly the’ later’ days of the Grateful Dead being able to play the Oakland Auditorium, with the last Show ever there – happening on the West Coast Spring leg, of the 1989 Tour! But luckily, the Jerry Garcia Band continued to grace the Kaiser – all the way through 1994! Just like the Skeleton couple here… As it doesn’t really ever get any better than a New Years Eve occasion! During the Uncle Bobo days… Just check out the Skeletons too, as Mr. Dancing Skeleton has his Top-Hat in toe! It’s all a Bundle of Red Roses!!! – with the Petals All A Fallin’!!! Right on the front-side… 82 Oakland Auditorium’83 printed nicely, with all of the Show Dates included below!!!!! December 26, 27, 28, 30 & 31, 1982… And soon to be’83! As the sands in that Good Ol’ Hour-Glass pass. Hey, if the have to pass – like they do anyways… Why not do it in California, with the Grateful Dead! And last but not least most-certainly not least! What a Tie-Dye Job!!! I mean this one looks like the’ Rit-Dye’ was bought right at the Safeway on College Avenue in Oakland or some other heavenly near-G. Place like that way back in’82, and the rubber-bands were strapped on in the parking-lot – naturally… And it was hand-dyed right in the back of a Late-60’s VW Micro-Bus! It’s the Good Ol’ fashioned & and the Original! ” Circular “-Pattern Style Tie-Dye Design! Gotta love this one… As it just Glows! In the true essence of G. Vintage, and even better yet… In New Years Eve Fashion!!! This one is indeed for you, Serious-Collector’s of Ultra-Rare!!! Grateful Dead Vintage items. This one is so sweet… That it needs to be Rocked! With a Shirt This-Cool – maybe even’ framed! -’82-’83 G. On New Years Eve!!! VTG Grateful Dead RARE Oakland Auditorium Fillmore East 1980 Original Tour Shirt. This is an EXTREMELY Rare ORIGINAL Fillmore. East/Winterland tour shirt from concert in Oakland. The print run was insanely low and you never see these! Size tag says Medium. Armpit to armpit is roughly 16″ and roughly 23″ from top shoulder to bottom. Showing signs of wear with some distress. Shows run at the Henry J. In Oakland, California!!!! Offered here the Vintage Original (Genuine / Authentic) Grateful Dead 1985 Chinese New Year Year of the Ox! Shirt made for the February 18th through 20th run of shows at the Henry J. Kaiser in Oakland, California aka. Home’ of the Deadheads! , with the actual Chinese New Year G. Celebration itself falling on the Tuesday 2/19 show — and in the 2nd Set… Women Are Smarter with Gung Hay Fat Choy Iko Iko! And a ” Dragon Dance ” during Drums — with the Chinese Symphony Orchestra even opening before the Grateful Dead! This was actually the very-first run of Dead Shows at the Kaiser, where it was re-named the Henry J. Kaiser , as prior – as most all of you know, this was the Oakland Auditorium Arena… The place where Dead Fans called home in the Bay Area, before the consistent Oakland Coliseum & Shoreline Amphitheatre days. And as for this Classic of a Tee? Well, for starters – Bobby Weir used to stage-wear this shirt-design, I think I recall it was the ” grey ” Shirt version that he was Rockin’ — at the B. Point being, if one of the Boys in the Band are wearin’ it – then it has to be one of the Grate! Hey, if either Ace – B. Mick – Brent, or Phil are wearing a Dead Tee on Stage – Count Me In!! No offense to Garcia, but he’s a Black T-Shirt guy, right? But during this brief Era… It could also be’ Trouble Ahead! – Jerry’s in Red!! – who saw the bright multi-color pants Garcia worn in Vegas? ! ? 92 or’93 maybe? OK, sorry – got off track there – Ha! So in my personal opinion? This’85 ” Ox ” design is really one of the best ever in a lot of different ways design-wise, The Ox! Because it was the First!!! It was the’ predecessor’ to the ” Year of the Tiger (’86) ” Shirt, the ” Year of the Hare (’87) “, and also the ” Year of the Dragon (’88) “… In other words, it was the Very 1st! Pretty darn-cool piece of info there, right! But hey – above all else… There’s just nothing quite like a G. Chinese New Year Show – any Year! During those usually cold and/or rainy West Coast early-months of the year. I’m still riding high from the last ” Dragon Parade ” I ever saw… At the Year Of The Dog! ” And I’m not kidding at all – some say that was the ” Last Amazing! Run for the Grateful Dead… And though I’d hate to look at things that way – it’s hard to not concur if you caught that run, or heard the music – especially on the ” Chinese New Year ” night. So go ahead and check out all of the photos provided, as this one just shouts-out ” Awesome ” — the 1985 Year Of The Ox!!! Watch-out though, because you know what they say about the ” Bull & The Horns ” – probably applies here with this Ox, because the’85 Grateful Dead were Smokin’-Hot!!! And you messed with Them then, you might as well just get the Horns!!! Enjoy this Piece of G. Rock & Roll History!!!! Tag Size/Brand : Medium (M) / Hanes 100% Cotton / Made in U.
