Chinese New Year run of Shows at the Oakland Coliseum!!! – as I sure bet that This! Chinese New Year Shirt brings back the Memories! — just like a Train… Or even, a Rooster!!! Running Down the Track! As speaking for myself, there was just nothing! Like Grateful Dead Chinese New Year & Mardi Gras Shows!! As these were always a little more low-key, versus high-profile Shows… At least to the’ Civilians’ – versus the Die-Hard Deadhead! And too, on the West Coast – especially Bay Area wise, and north there of – these were often the more-so’ dreary’ weather times outside… So, there was just Nothing! Quite as inviting as walking into the Good Ol’ Oakland Coliseum!!! Truly the Band’s ” Home Court ” for all of the 1990’s! – well, you know… It & Shoreline too – naturally. But, the really nice part of these runs were that the Band would seem to really take it upon themselves to ” build-up ” to the Final Night’s Magic! As after all, how can a killer Parade! Go down on the inside of the Arena – if the Grateful Dead isn’t on Fire! Well, they really always did a fine-job taking care of that. And, for this’93 run – the Band was really in the early midst of a yet-again! Live Grateful Dead renaissance! Or, as some do like to say… Yet another ” Triumphant Return “!!! Since’92 was marked with some strong Shows – and lots! Of them, it also ended up meaning that the Band decided to take some much-needed time off… Deciding to take a little collective break, instead of going forth with the planned’92 Fall Tour. Just as one might expect – some time off was really helpful! And, the Grateful Dead were really back & bringing the Heat!! This January Chinese New Year run… And also at the Mardi Gras run in February – just around a month later! To make matters even Cooler! Shirts for these two Show runs, that Fans have been Crazy! About – for over 30-Years now!!
