Shirt designed by Tim Harris! – the Last-Ever ” Dead Shirt ” issued for the Massive! Twenty Years So Far!! Offered here is the Very-Rare! – Featuring an Amazing Art Design by Tim Harris aka. You know, think back now – this is the one that features both and Hour Glass, and a Winged-Father Time… In my opinion, one of the truly quintessential G. T-Shirt images of the Mid-1980’s! And as for ” Father-Time “? Well, we all know the story there – but not to sound like a Red Bull commercial… This one has Wings!! I mean how Grateful Deadie is that a word? – I don’t know… But I like this ring it gives. Looking into it, it appears he is generally depicted as an elderly bearded man – dressed in a robe (as we know) – usually carrying an Hour Glass (or other timekeeping device) and/or Scythe (both present in this image). But as for the Wings? ! Well, his image comes from a various mix of’ Historic! Sources coming from both ” Chronus ” (the Greek God of Time) – and – ” The Grim Reaper “. We won’t go there, but how Grateful Deadie – once again!! So, I suppose the ” Wings ” are derived from the ” Chronus ” side, as there is really no better way to’ fly’ into one year to the next… As time slowly or even quickly! Not to get too deep here. Fact is, as that calendar flips really any-year from 1966 to 1992… Is there any better way to spend it, than seeing the Grateful Dead! ? ! This is a ” New Year’s Eve ” G. Here fellow fans, no doubt about it. One of those top-shelf designs from the’80’s, and one that Mickey even choose to stage wear? My memory serves me correctly. It’s pretty good. Tie-Dye Shirt made for the 1982 – 83 New Years Eve run of Shows! At the Oakland Auditorium!! Offered here is an Ultra-Rare!!! 1982 Grateful Dead Tie-Dye Shirt made for the New Years Eve run of Shows at the beloved Oakland Auditorium Arena in Oakland, California!!! This Rare and Awesomely-designed Shirt likely falls into the almost’ Beyond-Rare’ Collector’s top echelon of Only One In Existence! Who’s to say, I suppose – but this one is not only a beauty in design-itself including the’ old-style’ Tie-Dye! , but in age as it is close to 45-Years old! Personally, I love this Shirt and really think that it encapsulates the true real! Vintage Early-Days of the parking-lot-scene Shirt creativity. I mean check-out the old-school Tie-Dye! You’ve got Mr. Skeleton dancing away – in true New Year’s Eve style… Just like on that floor, or in the breezeways at the Good Ol’ Oakland Auditorium! Later known as the Henry J. And at this point here… These were truly the’ later’ days of the Grateful Dead being able to play the Oakland Auditorium, with the last Show ever there – happening on the West Coast Spring leg, of the 1989 Tour! But luckily, the Jerry Garcia Band continued to grace the Kaiser – all the way through 1994! Just like the Skeleton couple here… As it doesn’t really ever get any better than a New Years Eve occasion! During the Uncle Bobo days… Just check out the Skeletons too, as Mr. Dancing Skeleton has his Top-Hat in toe! It’s all a Bundle of Red Roses!!! – with the Petals All A Fallin’!!! Right on the front-side… 82 Oakland Auditorium’83 printed nicely, with all of the Show Dates included below!!!!! December 26, 27, 28, 30 & 31, 1982… And soon to be’83! As the sands in that Good Ol’ Hour-Glass pass. Hey, if the have to pass – like they do anyways… Why not do it in California, with the Grateful Dead! And last but not least most-certainly not least! What a Tie-Dye Job!!! I mean this one looks like the’ Rit-Dye’ was bought right at the Safeway on College Avenue in Oakland or some other heavenly near-G. Place like that way back in’82, and the rubber-bands were strapped on in the parking-lot – naturally… And it was hand-dyed right in the back of a Late-60’s VW Micro-Bus! It’s the Good Ol’ fashioned & and the Original! ” Circular “-Pattern Style Tie-Dye Design! Gotta love this one… As it just Glows! In the true essence of G. Vintage, and even better yet… In New Years Eve Fashion!!! This one is indeed for you, Serious-Collector’s of Ultra-Rare!!! Grateful Dead Vintage items. This one is so sweet… That it needs to be Rocked! With a Shirt This-Cool – maybe even’ framed! -’82-’83 G. On New Years Eve!!! Tag Size/Brand : Large 42-44 (L) / (All Cotton / Made in USA) – Shirt tag has been cleanly-cut’ below’ size Large. (GDM’91) : Tie Dye : X Large (XL) : The Rare! 1990-91 New Year’s Eve!!! Grateful Dead Tie Dye!!!! Tie Dye Shirt design! New Year’s Eve! – Timepiece & Zodiac-Time… Offered here is the Amazing! Grateful Dead 1990-91 New Year’s Eve Tie-Dye!! Truly one of the Coolest! ” Dyes ” ever-made for a G. New Year’s Show!! And really, one of the very-best all across the board!!! Tie-dye – plain shirt – or what have you – you know? ! This one is way-cool – and hey, if you are one that resembles Capricorn… Or should I say ” Capricornus “! — then this one is an absolute must-have. Keep in mind, this was the 2nd to last New Year’s Eve Grateful Dead Show ever played, and on a sad-note, this show was indeed the last N. Show that Bill Graham ever saw… With that beyond untimely loss occurring in’91. From what I can tell, Bill Graham and his spirit pretty much Was! New Year’s Eve to the Grateful Dead, as they would only play one more N. Show following in 1991 – and then that would be it… Well, these are probably the main reasons that the 1991-92 New Year’s Run even happened. As the Dead were certainly not the type to back out, but – because of the unfortunate timeliness of the situation, that Show & run did go on. But talk about a bitter-sweet run. While on the other hand, this 1990-91 was the last of the ” Real Deal ” really… Because it included Bill, through & through. And on a much lighter & brighter note – something that is quite cool… Pretty much every (or almost every) Dead Fan in the entire nation sort of felt like they attended this one, because it was a National ” Live ” Radio Broadcast!!! You know, kind of like the’87-’88 Show being Televised, or say the’89 Summer Solstice Show being a Nationwide Pay-per-view Broadcast! It really extended to the masses, because it was just all over the Radio! Talk about welcomed-reach, to the Deadhead Faithful, right? If you didn’t go to this Show, you definitely remember where you were when you listened to it, and probably who you were with — your fellow Dead Fan friends, right?? Seriously quality memory for most all. So in a lot of ways, if this magnificent tie-dye wasn’t cool enough already – then that definitely! Because most all fans know the set list to this hot night. At least to me ears, that was a nice standout. And as for the design itself? Speaks for itself – Timepieces! And the inclusion of the Capricornus! – Steal Your Faces! – and the Works!! Of, and of course too… One of the ultimate Grateful Dead New Years Eve Shows’ staples’ — Balloons!!! Ooops – better keep those staples away from those balloons though – Ha! Watch Jerry just kidding… I mean Bobby Ace! Kick one right-off the stage!! Oh, as those were the indeed days… And to me, this Beautiful Shirt! Grateful Dead New Years Eve 1990 – 1991!!!! Tag Size / Brand : Extra Large (X-Large / XL) / Fruit of the Loom 100% Cotton / Made in U. What a New Year’s Show! Too here in’83 – this was truly one of the’ many’ periods of change the Band went through – with this Show being one of the Two (2) New Year’s Shows at the S. Civic (in’83-’84 &’84-’85) as the’82-’83 New Year’s Show prior was at the Oakland Auditorium aka. , and from the’85-’86 New Years Eve on out (on through’91-’92)’ All’ of the other G. New Year’s Shows were at the Oakland Coliseum. Yes, a Grateful Dead New Year’s Shirt of any sort is pretty-rare when it’s from the S. Civic Show – much less… Just one’ Look’ at the photos provided, and yep — Wow!!!!! I mean hey, like this Good Ol’ saying goes — Just Leave It To… The Grateful Dead & Grateful Dead Fans… New Year’s Eve Shows Master! – I like it… This is indeed a ” Bill Graham Presents ” Shirt which Bill & Co.
