If you’re actually keeping tabs, and handing out points for creativity – and stuff like that. How exactly can you beat this? !! Jerry Garcia as a Knight in Shining Armor – riding in proudly on a Skeleton Horse!!!!! Dang, as I distinctly remember how I felt – the 1st time I saw this one on Tour. And here I-was thinking that all the Super! Creative lot shirt ideas had already been used… Jerry as a Knight!!! Hey, I mean after all… He is the King of Rock & Roll – at least in my book. Plus, aren’t Mick Jagger & Paul McCartney already’ Knights’?? Just because Garcia didn’t live in England — no reason at all to not Knight Jerry! And, what really makes this Shirt even cooler… Is that it’s for 1995! – the Last/Final Dead Tour!! And, if you’re are one of those out there that really-knows your Vintage Dead Tees hopefully so! – then, you will also know that a similar-version of this Shirt circulated the 1994 Tour – but, if my mind serves me correctly… The colors on the’ front’ design were in Rainbow-Colors? ! And, it didn’t look quite as this’95 version – with the straight-up Black! In true Garcia style!! And, if you dig the front design on this Tee which, I’m sure you do… Then check-out the back! Of the 1995 Summer Tour dates are present on this one – both East Coast / Midwest & West Coast too! The Bright Colors & Design of this piece of Art are just Spectacular! — in the form of a Rose!!! Plus, I love the font – so classic… & so Early / Mid-’90’s too! As, these were indeed the days that most people still didn’t even have a Computer! Or, if they did… It didn’t work too cool – and, was anything-but user friendly! So, when I see a killer graphic like this… I just like to give props! The Good Ol’ Grateful Dead at RFK Stadium – on July 10, 1973… Rock & Roll Throw-down – and one of Pure-Legend! With the Grateful Dead & The Allman Brothers Band!!! Rock & Roll inside Washington D. S classic RFK Stadium… Right on the tail-end of Rock’s ” Prime ” & Golden! I mean I’ve seen some Dead Shows at RFK in my time… 7/13/1989 – 7/12/1990 – 6/14/1991 – 6/20/1992 – 6/25/1993 – 6/26/1993… But, as most G. ” Purists ” would indeed agree – None! Some of mine were Real-Hot! Though, and let me be the first to tell you. I’ve sat close to Everywhere! In Good Ol’ RFK & mostly up on stage-front! – and, it’s just such an interesting & different Stadium’ shape’ when looking on up. And, acoustically – it’s obviously a Stadium, and sound can’ swirl’ a bit in certain corridors… But, can you even imagine the kind of sound that was swirling-away – on June 10th 1973!!! ? Skeleton Surfer skillfully riding a Wave right through the middle of Downtown Chicago, Illinois – right inside the Windy-City! Wake Of The Flood! With even some G. Dancin’ Bears too – Smiling afloat in some Boats! And what Great Shows too – and Especially! Night # 1 with the Legendary! James Cotton coming out and driving the Blues! What a Great 1992 Summer Tour all through & through, in fact. I did 10 straight dates on this’92 Summer Tour, and would have to say that this 6/25 Show here in Chi-Town was without any question at all… One of the Very-Best!! Chicago’s very own James Cotton – and even Steve Miller too! Delivering the Chicago-Blues sound, right alongside of the Good Ol’ Grateful Dead!!! This led to Smokin’-Hot versions of Good Morning Little School Girl!! I saw the Charlotte > RFK > Star Lake > Chicago!! > Deer Creek > & Buckeye Lake Shows! – and I’m pretty certain that this Shirt design was the only! ” Venue-Specific ” Shirt done for this whole Tour run? ! ? Well, I can only speak for the 10 Shows I saw, and the lots & venues that I traveled through Blissfully! But, there definitely wasn’t a Venue-Specific Shirt designed for RFK, and really… That was the only other’ Stadium’ date that I saw – maybe at Giants? I never have seen it. And, usually in this Early-’90’s G. Era – it was only the ” Big-Capacity ” Shows & Show-Runs that a’ Special’ Venue Shirt was designed for. And, luckily for Chicago, for Soldier Field the Proud! Home of the Monsters of the Midway… For the all the lucky Deadheads! Chris Pinkerton design was born & delivered! Just check out the Photos, for certain… Is Creative with a capital ” C ” Go Bears! – and Awesome with a capital A!!! The front of the Shirt features a Massive & Colorful! Design of a Surfing-Skeleton! Riding a Wave straight through the’ Windy City’ Downtown of Chicago! With Smiling Dancing Bears paddling alongside in Drift Boats! And, on the back of this Tie-Dyed beauty, it says ” Wake Of The Flood ” with two Dancin’ Bears in a row-boat’ Running a Red-Light’ right inside the City on a Gushing Wave!!!
