This is just a Classic… & now Quintessential Beauty! Shirt from over 35-Years Ago! Rick Griffin Art, truly at his Finest! And also, arguably one of his last – or quite close to last final Legendary!! Works — and so very fittingly, this one’s for The Grateful Dead!!! In November of 1990… But also, the Monumental’ Live’ release… Known as ” Without A Net “!!! Much better known as Brent Mydland!!! I believe that I 1st saw this Shirt at the Spring Tour’91 Cap Centre Shows! 4-run of Show by the Band, so… Just thinking back, as this was pretty much’ The! Shirt to have at the time, as it was really some seriously different Rick Griffin Art that was featured on a Shirt! There had been a little gap for a while, with the Griffin Art on new Dead Tees, and when this Beauty! Hit the scene, it was like… Right-On & Welcome Home!!! This was such a transitional time, with Brent’s passing – so… Almost everything seemed just a little bittersweet. And, not to paint a dreary picture, but – it actually kinda got worse… Fast, with both Rick Griffin & Bill Graham passing shortly thereafter. So, at least to me… This is the period of time that this represents – and represents Vividly!!! This is a popular one, which has been no doubt – reprinted over the years, but… Here with this one – just check out that vintage old school’ Cronies’ tag! The real deal indeed… This is one that no Dead Fan should live without, as this Griffin G. Design Image has indeed! Stood the test of time, and is just as cool as it was back in 1990-91! Plus, when you think about it -‘ Without A Net’ itself was all 1989 & 1990 Grateful Dead Live! And that was the Hot-Stuff!!! The’89 Summer Tour, Spring’90… Good Ol’ Grateful Dead in the’ newest’ of forms – during the Stout! Built To Last’ Era!!! This one is a G. To say the very-least… And, how can’t it be – when Rick Griffin is steering both the brush & the pen! This is a Circus-Scene – that is Definitely! Tag Size / Brand : Extra Large (X-Large / XL) / Cronies 100% Cotton / Made in U. Tag is missing but this is vintage from 1991 single stitch. 5 inches from bottom of armpit to armpit. The length of middle back is approximately 27 inches long. Nice fade. Vintage Original 1994 Issued Shirt Featuring the Legendary!!! 1974 Philip Garris Art design The Fiddler! – used for the Epic! 1975 ” Blues For Allah “… All Dead Fans are mostly on the same page in regard to the importance of the ” Blues For Allah ” album. This was the Grateful Dead’s ” Comeback ” after all, following a group hiatus – which nearly led to a complete dis-banding! Oh my, what would we all have done throughout the Late 70’s & 1980’s? ! ? Well, thankfully that was not the case – however, as Grateful Dead ” images ” go – it is tough to beat this one : ” The Fiddler ” (1974) by Philip Garris – the base art design used for the 1975 ” Blues For Allah ” Album!!! Right up there all the way for-certain with Steal Your Face! ” & ” Bertha Skeleton & Roses claim to G. However, while those were obviously invented before & during the ” Golden ” era of the Band, this ” Fiddler ” image on the other hand – represented ” magnificent change & transformation ” for new-look & new-sound! I can only imagine some of the fan-reactions when they first heard their very-first ” Allah ” album play in’75 – Wow! And especially being there to see it performed ” Live ” during those so very few & precious 1975 chances!! The funny thing is, probably just about the exact same thing happened a couple years later when they also heard ” Terrapin Station “! ? ! These were interesting times indeed, and in my opinion this is the Quintessential! Image from this way-beyond exciting time for the Grateful Dead. And as for this Shirt itself? This is a Shirt made in 1994! You bet Dead Fans… This one now clocks-in at around 30-Years Old! Where does the time-go! ? A true’90’s vintage time-capsule treasure here, representing the one & only… Thank You Philip Garris for giving all the Deadhead Faithful a Beyond-Legendary! And of course, hey G.
