So, I remember checking out that Shirt for a’ date’ — and when I did… Which meant that this one had actually’ slipped-by’ my T-Shirt addiction for darn-close to Two! Well, I took care of that one real-quick, and just as quick as I possibly could! I mean just check-out these photos… A Skeleton walking by an old building maybe a Graveyard? , that has a Window Glowing! And this Skeleton, he/she just looks to be completely in a Trance! Walking steadily with what looks like some serious direction & aim… Right over a very-large Bed of Skulls!!!! ? !! This here Rock’n Roll T-Shirt treasure is most-likely Not! For the Deadhead who likes colorful Dancing Bears on their Dead Tees! As this-one is Killer!!! And as the photos well show – for really good reason! I mean hey, let’s face it… Here weren’t really any! Shows to miss on both! The Spring’90 & Summer’90 Tours… And taking a Trip! In Fall’90 wouldn’t be too bad either… And, even in the Winter Tour and on the New Year’s run in Oaktown. They were finding magic again too, during this unexpected re-grouping time over the stunning & shocking loss of the one & only… But, happy before sad I always say — and this Shirt here debuted in Venues 1st on the Spring 1990 Tour! And then, right after too on the Summer 1990 Tour!! And, yep – I’ll never forget where I was for these Smokin’!! Dead Tours – the Cap Centre! Two of which were so darn hot musically… That they are even forever enshrined on both View From The Vault I & View From The Vault II. And believe me, if you don’t already know yourself… Let’s just say ” well deserved “!!! I mean hey, here’s a fun Prankster game… Go throw 7/8/90 Three Rivers – Pittsburgh in your DVD player… And then, see how far you can count – before your jaw hits the floor… And your body starts Dancin’! Or, maybe even Laughing! Too – considering that the Boys come out in Rock & Roll Shades!! And, that was pretty much the story across the board from nearly-every! Single Dead Show of the’90 Spring &’90 Summer Tours. And, not only was it the ” 25th” Anniversary of the good Ol’ Grateful Dead… But it was also essentially the ” 10th ” Anniversary of Good Ol’ 1980’s! Grateful Dead – and the April’79 to July’90 G. Unit, with Jerry – Brent – Bobby – Phil – Billy & Mick All! – and Super-Duper Creative! Grateful Dead in some very-big places, Hockey Rinks, Amphitheaters & Football Stadiums!! – and my goodness… And really, this Shirt here was one of The! Templeton 1987 GDM Space Your Face! Design on the front – a Killer! Late-1980’s / Early-1990’s-esque Tie Dye design – and a Magnificent! & new 1965 (MCMLXV) > 1990 (MCMXC) ” 25 Years Dead ” design on the back. Tie Dye Tour Shirt!! For the 1991 Grateful Dead L. 1991 Summer Tour Grateful Dead’ Live’ in L. Grateful Dead Fan Faithful!!! And for that matter – USC Trojans fans too!! – as offered here is an Incredibly-Rare! Grateful Dead Shirt made’ Venue-Specific’! For the June 1st, 1991 (6/1/1991) Grateful Dead Summer Tour Show! Memorial Coliseum, in Los Angeles, California….. This is the Vintage-Original Grateful Dead Merchandise GDM, Inc. 91 Shirt that was made just-for this’91 Summer Tour L. Now I, being one of the many-masses that think it is just so-Excellent! When Rock’n Roll! And especially the Grateful Dead!!! I have always thought this Shirt was one of the Absolute-Coolest! Shirts of all time. And, it is undoubtedly one of the most’ Artistic’ G. Shirts too – with White Stallion Horses making up the actual’ Face’ of the G. Here you go indeed – well over 30-Years later — just waiting patiently for you to wear this G. Back into the L. And all of that aside… As it is indeed one of the most-clever & creative’ Venue-Specific’ Grateful Dead Shirts ever! With this particular era in time the Early-’90’s! Being one where many! Cool ideas similar to this one surfaced on Grateful Dead Shirts, and Yes! – as this one is indeed an’ Official’ GDM release for this specific 6/1/91 G. On the front side, the Steal Your Face! Design, is made of a synchronized group of galloping White Stallions! Or, should I say’ Horses’ just like the USC Trojan-Horse – Hah! Well, they are galloping-away for certain – and are definitely pulling the load with ease on this Chariot! And as for the Chariot itself? Its packed tight with three Skeletons – all appropriately dressed with their USC Trojans Battle-Gear! – with both the Helmets! And on the back side… This Chariot is driving right into the USC Trojans L. And in the very back of this Chariot, taking it easy naturally… And clearly ” Enjoyin’ the Ride “… Is a Green & Purple Dancing Bear!!! … Quite the scene indeed, and again – as for the the front of this Shirt… Pretty much just Artistic-Magic! At its very finest – in delivering one one of the Ultimate G. Much like that delivered during a’91 Summer Tour Grateful Dead Show!!! Of a Vintage Tee!! Grateful Dead 1990 Summer Tour Venue-Specific Chicago! For the World Amphitheatre Shows – The’ Last & Final’ Brent Mydland Shows G. Ever – in Ultra-Rare’ White’!!!! Quite possibly from the Windy City itself, from the Grate! Mid West — and naturally….. As offered here proudly is one of the Ultimate! Grateful Dead Shirts of All-Time – from the Massive! 90 Summer Tour – which, as we all know was sadly the Last & Final run of Dead Shows… Featuring the one & only Brent Mydland. All the way from 4/22/1979 to 7/23/1990 here in Chicago, at the World Amphitheatre Show run… Brent was a beyond-huge part of the Live Grateful Dead Cosmic Glue – that still sticks unmatched in the ears, memories, mind & soul for so many Dead Fans – and the Brent Fan Faithful! Brent’s presence musically, and in spirit is without any shadow of a doubt – a Massive! Part of the Grateful Dead Era that many Dead Fans arguably consider to be the very-best… And really 1979 to 1990, to be super specific… Brent’s 10+ Year Long Strange Trip – as a quintessential part of the Good Ol’ 1980’s! Brent’s shockingly untimely passing was on 7/26/1990 at home in California, just 3-days after his last 7/23/90 Summer Tour Show – which was also the Last & Final Show of the’90 Summer Tour. And, in the personal opinion of myself… Brent had more Rock & Roll Passion and Soul in his little pinky finger, than most musicians could ever dream of. I mean after all – Brent sung 4 of the 9 songs on the Last & Final Album of the Grateful Dead – Built To Last in 1989. Brent was one of those – and really, one of the main ones. Though the live touring machine of the Grateful Dead did their very-very best to regroup for the Fans, Themselves, and for Rock & Roll – and hit some true heights on later Tours, the likes of’91 Spring,’91 Summer, the’93 Touring-year, and a few others of note… It’s quite hard to say it was really ever the same without Brent. Tough obviously on Jerry, and really every single one of the Boys in the Band. But, as the saying goes I suppose… All things must pass. Point being, that is the importance of this incredible G. Tour Shirt – from Summer Tour’90, the Last & Final Chicago stand of the Brent-Era. Here well over 25-years later – this ” White ” Shirt version is the rarest by far, as with many of the best-of-the-best G.
